the 3d animation makes me sick, one of many, so no I dont think 3d will take over everything, and though anime isn't extremely popular in my country it is a staple of Japan so I dont see it dying out any time soon.

It'll die out... when the world ends . Seriously, though, as long as people love hand-drawn graphics over CGI, it'll never die.

I believe that anime on television has died (ex. Funimation). I think as long as Japan, and the internet are around, we'll be fine. And yes, I am well aware of the existence of Toonami (our savior).

Even though 3D is a big step forward, many people I know don't like it...Sometimes it just doesn't feel the same.Technology doesn't always master what people like. I don't think something can ever really die..There will always be some people to like it.I mean, few people still like hippie style,as well as victorian dresses,ect...

We're pretty much in agreement here. 3D animation.....well let's just say in my humble opinion, Blue Submarine or whatever the hell it's called is the most boring anime I have ever seen in my life.

Anime will die when there is no money left. When there is no money is when people stop watching. Therefore when people stop watching, anime will die. That is the only guarantee I can think of, although I can't predict of anything else random or unseen that could happen

i don't think traditional animation will ever be threatened by 3d. 3d is a different style, not a replacement. it's trendy and all but it won't make 2d animation obsolete

Most probably. If it doesn't die out it will definitely change over time into something significantly different than it is today.

I don't really care, there is enough anime to watch several lifetimes for me.

never ever =_= honestly it matters to people until they die...cause i mean.....theres no anime in heaven or hell

Well, obviously everything has a time for it to end, so in that sense, anime won't last forever. :(

But I don't see it dying anytime soon, just as long as people keep buying it and watching it.

As long as there's Kids and Kids at heart. It will never Die out. Anime catches the vivid imagination of young one's than any medium.
