It a simple matter of economics i.e. supply and demand. As long as there continues to be a demand for it, someone will supply it. Anime is heavily influenced by Japanese culture. So if the Japanese ever lose their taste for anime, it is unlikely that animation from another country would really be able to capture the flavor and style that occurs in Japanese animation. Of course with Japan's declining birthrate, you may see major changes in anime as their population concentration gets older.

Anime may die out in the future but it won't be because of 3D CGI animation. No CGI animators have dastardly plans to take over anime anyway, this is because they are already seen as outcasts of the animation industry in general. They are relegated and compartmentalized as just useful for background animation, advertising (commercials use a lot of CGI), and other practical uses. And that way they will always stay.

If the popularity of it decreases maybe. That would be funny to hear people's reactions on the supply of anime declining.

Nothing lasts forever, but I don't see it dying out anytime soon.

No, 3dcg can only go so far and I personally hate the look of it compared to anime.

I believe that anime on television has died (ex. Funimation). I think as long as Japan, and the internet are around, we'll be fine. And yes, I am well aware of the existence of Toonami (our savior).

I agree with this and this answers some of your question, but since there are otakus like my bro who can draw and does 3d rendering for a living there will be always be anime eventually the term anime will broaden out a bit and people around the world will make anime. example Avatar.
As far as CGI and 3d ever heard of hatsune miku? That will be the next step then the holograms in your home and blah blah blah
So no anime will be around as long as people love them.

personally I move with the flow with most things, so I think eventually EVERYTHING will die out, but anime... not in the near future.

It may die, but I doubt CG is going to be the cause.
