Is it possible to make it so we can use the embed code for other music players? For example: SoundCloud has flash embed code, so does Mixpod. Worth looking into.
Otherwise, just get rid of the option, since Playlist.com won't play the lists remotely, anymore. EDIT: No more MixPod! |

At this point, I'd prefer that the embed player code field be removed entirely, honestly. It is evidence of something we used to have, but have no longer, and was just left there, broken and forgotten. It would be pretty easy to code it back in later, when (if) you fix it .
It's just bad brandsmanship (I made that up! ) to just leave it like that for so long. I'm paying, and I am requesting humbly: Please, clear it out or fix it soon. |

When I request embed code it gives me: Which I then pasted into the old field here: Which results in... Thank you for the link, beardfist, I did see that method mentioned on someone else's profile, but it seemed like someone's well-intended but cluttered hack... I will give that a try - cumbersome as it looks. You must admit, by most good service management standards that really isn't considered a satisfactory, permanent fix, but a temporary Band-Aid: Most people aren't that good at understanding and editing code... and if they are paying for a proclaimed "premium" product/service, quite honestly they don't want to be told to "go do this patchwork coding yourselves from now on, we're done with it." I'm not trying to be difficult - this tenet was drilled into me in many management courses, and I have found it to be sound advice: Don't make your products/services (or any part of it) overly difficult for your clients to use. EDIT: That did work. Now, to rescue the layman! Maybe when I'm done with learning WebLogic and have the time I will hop in Sublime Text 2 to configure something that will translate the embed code Playlist.com now gives you into the code provided in the sticky. If nobody else gets on it - and I find time - maybe that will be my CR community service detail for the year. To wit: It still needs to be fixed, so that loyal, paying members don't have to put up with this coding maze. |
