A group of individuals gets together to draw straws once a week. Whoever gets the shortest straw is going to be the one cosplaying.

Oh yes, cosplay. Embarrassing, but oh so hilarious for the rest of the group. Just put the names of a bunch of different anime and videogame characters in a jar and hope for the best.

Everyone who isn't the cosplay victim gets to spend the duration of the group get-together creating the costume for the one poor bastard to wear in school the next day on Monday.

I'm stating high school in August, I'll make an anime club if there isn't already one. I'll call it "Genshiken" like the manga. Also, any high school tips?

God I wish the anime club at my school did this. Maybe then I'd actually join. That'd be hilarious.

I'm not one for clubs, really, but some good ones at my school are the Literary Magazine club and the Model United Nations club.

The Literary Magazine (LitMag) club makes a magazine of student creative works -- poetry, short stories, artwork and photography -- that students of our school submit, then sells it at the end of the year. It also goes to a regional LitMag judging competition, wherein it is judged based on style, layout, and overall content, and receives awards.

The Model United Nations (MUN) club holds a model UN meet once or twice a year, involving all the schools in the county. Each student picks a country to represent, gets a debate topic, then researches his or her country's stance on said topic. They must write a report and be able to defend their country's position against other countries when the meet comes around. It's really, really neat, though it is a lot of work.

As for more creative, fun clubs that don't require that much organization, my friend started a comic drawing club in middle school before. It operated much like the manga teams you see on some anime. It failed miserably, but hey, you can't expect much dedication from 12-14 year olds, even though they were only aiming to draw about 10 pages collectively... I think it'd be a good idea if you just made sure to have a good project leader and keep everyone within deadlines.

Another of my friends started a Harry Potter fanclub, lol. They organize a Harry Potter-themed week each year, and an annual Quidditch competition between the varsity sports teams. It's really fun! Each grade gets their own house (Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, ect.), we decorate the halls, have competitions and prizes... I may join next year, if I don't have too much going on~

My High School didn't have clubs, if they did they were just groups of friends hanging out, not a real club with activities. Things such as sport were the only clubs I actually seen. Sure, we had a student council, but nothing like Japan has if that is realistic or not. Heck, the President of the council wasn't even elected by popular vote, I think her grades got her the spot. Plus, it isn't like they really did much for the students.

Band and anime clubs are good ideas if you don't have those. I'm in both.

Using my school as an example:

LGBT support club (made by my friend) -> where LGBTs and supports go and ... idk lol, I'm not in the club, but I'm sure it's just for discussion and stuff like that
*IB Mountain Committee Club -> promote people's out of school achievements
Debate Club ->... debating and they go to a year end provincial debate thing I think
MOMUN -> world issues discussion
LEO Club -> for volunteer opportunities for IB students and future IB students
Project Kenya -> we raise funds for our sister school in Kenya
*IB Action group -> I made it, and it's kinda out of school, but It's generally a group where IB students come and exercise to get Action Hours

used to have Anime and Maths Clubs

*IF you have IB, AP or any other higher educational programs in your school, be sure to make a club where it aims towards those people because human beings generally like to be grouped in "higher" classes, thus people of those programs would most likely join that group
