Realistically, you shouldn't "need" someone like that. It's an unrealistic expectation to put on the other person. The mentality that you "need" someone is really not the healthiest one to have. You want someone, sure. But getting in a relationship while thinking it's a "need" is bound to cause issues for one or both of you later. Be with someone because you want to be, and because they want to be with you. I can safely say from personal experience that it's better to be single and feeling a bit lonely, than to be in a relationship where you're both unhappy (or even miserable.)

I feel that there are many ppl who are in a rush to be with someone that they end up in bad situations. I feel like it's the media and many mainstream forces that focus on the values being in a relationship, and finding the "one," too much now-a-days that there is little notice on alternative relationships. Thus, the high rates of STI's and divorces commences. Gah!
