I'm trying to find new cute anime/mangas to get into. I'm usually into school-life ones but I also enjoy magic girl types. My overall favorite ones have been Yumeiro Patiessiere, Gakuen Alice, Ouran High School Host Club, Shugo Chara, Special A, Kaichou Wa Maid Sama, Fruits Basket, and Card Captor Sakura.

I'm not a huge fan of dark animes but I do like some (Code Geass, Death Note Vampire Knight) so if it has some violence I don't mind.

So any suggestions for me? Please add a description if you can

I'll put my two cents in and say that Lovely Complex (LoveCom for short) is a really good, well balanced, high school romance/slice of life anime. Toradora is a little less sweet, and a little more spastic, and also quite good. I cared about the characters, felt the emotions that were being conveyed by these series, and was glad I had watched them when they wrapped up. :)

From the Wikipedia for LoveCom: "Love★Com is a love story between a boy and a girl in Sakai, Osaka. The girl, Risa Koizumi, is 172 centimetres (5 ft 8 in) tall—much taller than the average Japanese girl. The boy, Atsushi Ōtani, is 156 cm (5 ft 1 in)—way below the height of the average Japanese boy. Because of this, the pair are called the "All Hanshin Kyojin" after a popular comedy duo that has a similar height difference."

And for Toradora: "Toradora!'s story begins with the male protagonist Ryūji Takasu who is frustrated at trying to look his best as he enters his second year of high school. Despite his gentle personality, his eyes make him look like an intimidating delinquent, so he feels utterly hopeless about his chances of getting a girlfriend anytime soon, and does not have many close friends either. After being greeted by his hungover mother in the morning, Ryūji goes to school and is happy to find that he gets to be in the same class with his best friend Yūsaku Kitamura and a girl he has a crush on, Minori Kushieda. However, it is then that he unexpectedly knocks into "the school's most dangerous animal of the highest risk level"—Taiga Aisaka—who just happens to also be in his class, and is a good friend of Minori."
