Even if anime reaches an extremely low point in popularity soon I don't think it will die within the foreseeable future. As long a people like it there will be people to make it, too.

If anything, anime actually seems to be rising in popularity. I see more and more people wearing clothes based off popular anime series and most people who have never taken an interest before seem to be talking about some pretty popular shows. Even I have come out of a long time hiatus in the anime world. It seems like less and less people seem interested in MTV,the bar scene, and clubbing and more interested in technology and other things that up until recently were considered too "lame" and "nerdy". One can only imagine what the world would be like in 10 years, but I'm guessing the polar opposite of "nerdom" is going to die out very soon, not the other way around.

Anime don't die because they are in the internet. I like anime probably until I die, so a group of people will still like it. Just like old music, or bands.

I'd like to give a detailed explanation of why that's false, but I'm not that good at explaining things, so I'll just say, that's false, plain and simple.

If anime were to lose all of its popularity while still continue showing then it could always be an underground thing..

i think that, with the way technology has changed the accessibility of anime, it's not going to happen. interest in anime is spreading, on a global scale, & we can thank the internet for that. i've been watching anime since i was 9, when i could really only get a hold of it at the local video rental stores--VHS nonetheless! there's a new generation of young ones who have SO MUCH MORE anime at their fingertips! if anything, i'll be that old guy introducing my kids & grand kids to anime
