Hell with him, everyone doesn't even watch those shows. I've watched over 200 anime, I DROPPED one piece, naruto, and dragonball.
In no way will the loss of 3 shows kill something with such a HUGE following. If someone watches anime to watch only 3 shows, then they aren't an ANIME fan, they are a NARUTO or ONE PIECE fan. Big difference.
That's like saying "When Metallica stops being awesome, metal will die" or "When aerosmith dies, so will rock"
Guess what, both of those things have happened, both of those genres still exist.
Same thing here, folks.

Anime's been around since 70s. Some will argue even further back. 40+ years later it's still around.
People say a lot of crap like that. Just look at music, video, or any other form of media.
People said cassette tapes would kill radio. Radio still exists.
People said VHS/beta would kill TV/movies. TV/movies still exist.
etc etc.

Anime will never die, it's been around for many years now and it may change in one way or another, but it'll never die. However, considering that most of what I watch these days is either on Crunchyroll or Funimation because most of what's on American TV is crap these days (reality TV, sitcoms and dramas that are corny as hell), I shudder to think what would happen if anime did die.

It is gonna die soon. There isn't enough talented people willing to create anime because the working hours are crap and so is the wages. Especially when you consider the video game industry pays a lot more money and has less limitations creativity speaking than anime does. Plus anime interesting is waning. Its becoming more and more common that Japan makes anime for Japan. Not anime to export out to the world. So we are now stuck with moe stuff that the rest of the world finds creepy and people write anime off as something only creepers watch.

Totally False! I started watching anime 40 years ago...Kimba the White Lion and Marine Boy were two of only a few staples then. But over the years the stage has certainly grown. I don't think the the 30 y.o.s and younger are going to stop watching anime because they got a job and a family, are you? And who do you think they are going to be watching anime with as the family expands. That's right the children (I watched it with my 2). With a national birth rate of 2.5 kids to every woman in the U.S. and 3-3.5 in Central and South America, and the anime industry growing within Korea and China anime will be around for a long time. Also look at the lack of competition that others have sited: reality, boorish comedies, and poorly written dramas on television. Soooo everyone stop worrying because money is the key element and the anime industry is pretty powerful. Some good points were made on previous pages though for the industry to expand it would be helpful for anime companies to target the female market, the Japanese have the incredible ability to create intense emotions within their anime. Just an hour or two ago I found myself laughing at episode after episode of Full Metal Panic (2nd season), and it wasn't by any means a great season. I normally will go weeks without cracking even a smile. Anime is something very cathartic and most boys and men that I've spoken with will openly admit to the fact that they've shed a tear or two to anime, and are not embarrassed by it. The females who like or love anime have figured out that this cathartic release exists as well, the knowledge will expand.
