[rp] Hookah lounge
Posted 7/19/12

The Hookah lounge, where all species hang out for some hookah!
Fights are done outside in the parking lot.

OOC: There weren’t any posts and I sorta wanted to establish setting before getting into the meat of the RP for this thread. I hope no one minds; no additional RP posts I place will be this long again. I promise.

Anyways: IC-

Kyle reclined in the low backed, red leather booth, glowering steadily at the attendant who had introduced herself as “Mistress Lucretia”. She stank of the blood curse and for all the world looked like a refined though seductively dressed 19 year old with one exception... that her eyes glowed a faint silver in the extremely low, red tinted lighting of the lounge. If the establishment hadn’t been declared neutral ground and he’d been forced to check his sidearm and sword, he’d have expunged the foul temptress on the spot. Instead, he’d only been able to sneak in his Lambert Industries custom tranq pistol folded into its belt pouch. Though it looked innocent when folded away and made for the perfect holdout weapon the downside meant no reserve magazine and only one shot. In Kyle’s mind, short of his close quarters hand to hand training he was as naked as the day he was born. It made him tense and uneasy. Kyle scanned the rest of the lounge and noted only 3 other occupants. The piano player weaving a soft somber ballad next to an empty stage and the barman idly rearranging something below the bar level speaking to a sharp dressed man (possibly the Bouncer) with his back to Kyle, the both of them backlit by indirect ambience lighting emanating from the rows of hookah shelves lined against the wall behind him.

“Please be sure to let me know if you need anything else, okay?”

Lucretia licked her lips and eyed him with the slender predatory gaze of a lion eyeing its prey... Kyle growled an acknowledgement and watched her traipse away, noting the full hips and taut, whip strong muscles of her legs. Turning away Kyle picked up the Hookah pipe and took a tenative first drag. The hookah burbled and the current flavor of the day: “Lace and Leather” filled his lungs. Kyle wasn’t sure how the establishment had come to some of the names they’d chose for their tobacco flavors but he really wasn’t here to relax, he was just waiting for a noteable lead on anything of interest. It’d been two weeks since he’d penned his compliance to an electronic request from an anonymous group claiming to be an unsanctioned Vampyre Hunter unit and he was instructed that this was one of the best places to get a lead; however indirect on open opportunities to ply the one trade Kyle had mastered. Hunting...

As the smoke tingled in his lungs, Kyle exhaled breathily allowing the nicotine to flood his bloodstream. However, something felt off. At first expectedly subtle, the feeling of relaxation quickly crescendoed and became noteably too potent, too soon. Kyle felt a strange electric tingling begin inside of him that rippled from the tips of his fingers through the center of his chest down to his feet and distinctly became aware of the blood pumping in his veins and the rhythmic thrumming of his heart. As he leaned forward trying to steady himself the feeling seemed to cloud his mind as smooth, cloying fingers of ecstasy plied at his inner resolve. And then he felt something else. Kyle, lurched forward and coughed a ragged, bloody rattle. Clutching a hand to his chest he felt like his insides were being shredded by a thousand invisible razors. He tried to scream as the pain overtook him but all that escaped his lips was a haggard, flesh torn rasp. Doubled over, his senses had made a complete turn around and everything was loud, harsh, vibrant. Kyle hacked uncontrollably for a few more moments before the world snapped back to the way it had been moments ago with the exception that he felt very very good and wanting more. That last feeling left him disoriented and stunned. A soft giggle and Lucretia’s girly voice breathed gently against his right ear...

“Humans never can handle the leather side of that particular flavor. That’s why it’s flavor of the day... everyday.

-“Ugh... were you watching the whole time?”

“Maybe... its splendidly arousing seeing a tough man crumple into a mewling broken kitten without ever having to touch him.”

At that Lucretia ran a cool, soft hand across Kyle’s lower jaw.

“I know what you are Hunter... and I know things, that would make Lace and Leather feel like a pale imitation if you’re interested.”

Before he could take measure of his position, Lucretia had him pinned in the booth, straddling him in a lover’s kiss. The taste of her was numbingly erotic and Kyle found himself unable to fight her embrace...

-“Damn... this isn’t good. I really REALLY hope someone comes in soon.”
However, as the thought left his mind, Lucretia released him and flung him hard against the booth cushion.

“You came to the wrong place to pick up any leads on my kind Hunter... this place, is a haven , a refuge for both our races. You either respect that or you get out.”

Lucretia seemed to direct the last remark over Kyle’s shoulder and as he turned he saw the sharp dressed mystery man looming over him. Other than being a mountain, he was in fact human and glaring right back at Kyle.

“Problem here, Lucretia?”

“I believe that answer is up to our sole patron here...”

Kyle growled and a hand the size of a Thanksgiving ham slapped down on his shoulder, the weight of it alone nearly dislocating the joint. Lucretia eyed him with a fang filled smirk.

-“No problems here.” (reluctantly)

The bouncer’s hand released Kyle with a shove and he lumbered off, Lucretia gave a winsome smile and turned leaving Kyle to his forgotten hookah, the embers of the coals slightly crackling. A few moments later and a mic whined and the piano player changed his serenade requiem into a more upbeat jazzy tempo and Lucretia broke into a silvery siren song.

Slumping back into his booth, Kyle scowled made a mental note to strangle the next hunter he came across for information about the bad tip.

At that moment... the door to the lounge opened.

........................................................and a cool breeze blew in, snuffing out the guttering hookah coals. Kyle sighed once, threw his tip down on the booth table and stepped out through the windswept door into the crisp night air, his long black outer coat billowing gently in his wake.

Marcy walked in, sighing and sitting on a small couch. She yawned

Penelope had been watching from the outside, looking very mysterious by the window in the dark night. However she leaned casually against it now as she faced the man coming out, "Interesting place huh? They call it neutral when vampires can kick us out and punish them for 'ruining the peace of their business.'" She scoffed and took a drag of her cigarette, "Please gimme a break. And the only reason this place is still around is cuz the leaders of each side can meet here...'in peace.'" At that she rolled her eyes.

Kyle stopped mid-stride. Before he'd even had time to shoulder his sword and secure his pistol from the doorman, a woman's sudden interjection took him off guard. He HATED being caught off guard.

-"For the record, I wasn't kicked out; I left. What brings you here tonight?"

Thumbing the holster brake off the backstrap of his Colt 1911 on his hip, his grip instinctively tightened around the wooden saya of his custom chokuto. She didn't stink of the blood curse but it was a hunter who'd sent him here in the first place...

With an arch of her brow she replied as she let out smoke, "Who said you were on the record?" Then with a dirty look tossed to the guard she passed him and shrugged, "Updates, recon, sight-seeing." As she passed Kyle and took her last drag she said, "It's really none of your business." Then flicked her cigarette into a puddle.

Typical... Kyle shouldered his sword and thumbed the holster brake back over his pistol. Half turned and grabbed the mystery woman by the upper arm; bracing for retaliatory punch or worse. The heavy by the door eyed him suspiciously and took two steps to the side sensing the same.

-"I'd advise against that if I were you. See, Lurch over by the bar? Yeah he's got a short leash being held by Madame Night Bitch the lounge singer. They don't like... snooping."

Kyle cracked a smirk at him.

-"...And I'm Kyle, I never got your name."

She yanked her arm away from him and brushed it off with her gloved hand, as if his touch dirtied her or something. Then she tilted her head with a smile, "Oh yes, I know them very well." He'd get a sense then that she has quarreled with them in the past. Her hand went away from her hip and into a crossed arm stance, she tipped her head at him, "Oh yea? And you're not gonna. Nice meeting you though." And she turned away again to go about her business.

-"Ooh tough girl. I like you."

Kyle eyed her with a intentionally annoying leer and smacked the pouting vixen square on the rump.

-"Go on, babe... recon your heart out. I came here for a lead and you've just turned into the next best thing... I'll watch your back."

Kyle winks at her and cracks the most obnoxious smile he can. At least if there was gonna be a fight (which seemed rather inevitable with the ice queen here) he'd be able to pay back Lucretia for the kiss and maybe get his lead he'd wanted in the first place. With interest.

His hand didn't make it to her...rump. She had grabbed it in time to use leverage against him and twist his arm behind his back. In his ear she said with a sharp tongue, "The next time you touch me inappropriately will be the last time you have hands." Then she shoved him into the guard by the door and did a quick run and jump to the wall nearest them and bounced off of it to give her a good head start on her run into the alleys.

Kyle heaved a sigh. The doorman, a vampire, of course... shoved him away. His dark red eyes glittered like embers but he seemed to have been amused by the exchange.

"You're no ladies man, Hunter. Maybe you should just let that one go...she's, trouble."

Kyle smirked, an evil grin spreading on his face.

-"You kidding me, bright eyes? haha... I've spent my life tracking YOUR kind. You think some saucy cheerleader with daddy issues is gonna evade me?"

With that, Kyle drew the Tranq Pistol and ejected the Dead Man's Blood bullet. He inserted a fresh magazine with human neuro-toxin paralysis rounds and looked around at the woman's egress route. The lounge was flanked by cold unforgiving brick and mortar walls however on the north side of the opposite building she'd bounded off of; Kyle spied what he was looking for. A fire escape.

-"Not quite what I had in mind for tonight but nevertheless... the hunt is on."

Penelope was expecting this, it was only a matter of time before someone good with their kind got paid highly enough to kill her. She was heading for a dead end though. It was a small obstacle considering the dumpster pasted against the wall, she jumped onto it and then landed on the edge of the wall. Staying in her stance she did a quick sweep of the rooftops, he was still on the ground, that was good. But where would he go? Surely he wouldn't think she'd go back around to the lounge. So that's exactly what she did, stealthy and fast as a cat.

OOC: I'm experimenting here, tell me if you think it's unfair.

IC:

Kyle finally managed to get to the top of the building and looked down.

-"Damn... forgot to retract the ladder back up. Rookie mistake, Kyle..."

He sighed and shrugged. That viper tongued minx had an easy 3 minute head start not including the time it took him to get up here. If she came back, something about the open fire escape seemed like it'd be a red carpet for someone wanting to get the drop on him. Kyle felt confident in his ability to sense a predatorial presence. He'd once staked a vamp who'd mist formed and had stalked right up behind him and was re-corporealizing just as it was about to bite his neck, instead it rematerialized with a 2 foot long wooden wedge in it's chest. No small feat.

-"Ehh, yeah I think it'll be fine. Besides, she couldn't stand me touching her, I doubt she'd have it in her to sully herself by throttling me."

Kyle chuckled and withdrew the Blue Glass from his wrist link. Technology in 3010 had come a long way unlike the hostilities between mortals and vampires. Personal security link ups called: "Hubs" could be purchased and in some cases assembled by trained techs. Kyle wasn't a gear head so this was a custom order. It linked directly into the Force Com military satellite feeds and provided on the fly live video of any location the Blue Glass was directed at. Additionally, the small blue transparent glass eye piece had infrared, night vision, thermal and UV visor modes to boot, useful but extremely expensive. Switching the Blue Glass over to Infrared he narrowed a few field parameters and did a 5x and 10x magnification down the silent alley. Switching to Thermal he found her shoe prints cooling to a dull cold blue and took screen images with a tap of his finger. Kyle removed the Blue Glass and slid it back on the the docking port on his hub as he panned the sat feed around giving him a birds eye view of her path. Looks like she doubled back.. to the Lounge.

-"No kidding..."

Kyle smiled. He really did like this girl. She was proving more interesting than a Vampyre.

(just a tadddd i guesss lol but note tht earlier i said there was puddle, meaning it had rained, just keep the environmental factors in mind.)

When she got back to the building she looked at the guard with a scowl, he looked up. So she did too, and then smiled. She found the fire escape and loosened its hinges, then barely used it to climb up, she more than likely ran up the wall. When she got to the top it seemed each movement flowed right into the next, she landed, leaned back and grabbed the ends of the ladder, pulled it out and swung it at him. Then she dropped it and got low as she somersaulted away from him.
