OOC: Got it, I forgot about the rain I'll taper off the tech then, maybe gimp it or he'll conveniently lose it in this fight... guess we'll see!

IC:

Kyle heard before he saw the rattling of the fire escape as it was being wrenched off it's hinges. He instinctively ducked and rolled but the girl was quick. The blunt end of one of the ladder supports clipped his shoulder as he went into a headlong roll, remembering hundreds of hours of Aikido, redirecting most of the impact force through his body and down into the flat plaster of the roof. However, the initial impact left the joint stiff and sluggish.

-"SO that's how it's gonna be!?"

Regaining his feet, he squared off his stance sinking low into a flexible responsive position. Kyle then butterfly'd the folding Tranq Pistol and absent mindedly stowed it back into his belt sheath. His way of saying: Challenge Accepted.

He shifted position again into a left hand blade stance, lead fist chest level and circled around the crouched woman, with each semi arc he inched closer and closer to her position. His gaze narrowed, his eyes searching hers. Seeing nothing but challenge and defiance, he smirked and lunged. His opening strike was a whip fast half punch from his lead hand, a fake-out too fast and too sure for most unskilled and some novice hand to hand fighters to disregard as a feint. He shifted balance almost simultaneously and prepped his right knee for imminent impact with a set of floating ribs if she'd just fall for the feint and dodge the strike. It seemed as good a move as any, even if she countered or dodged he'd learn something about her.

(do u mind trying to dumb down ur vocab on fighting? im not familiar lol...)

She saw her escape through a risky front. Penelope leaned back on her heels and lunged herself at him like a baseball, but instead of a straight shot she did a curveball, away from his fist. As she passed him she took on the offense and aimed her wrists at two spots on his spine. It was all very simultaneous as two needles fired from a source in her wrists, if they hit he wouldn't be able to move his arms while inside still. Her landing was poorly planned though as her shoulder ate brick, temporarily dislocating it, she bit her tongue in pain as he yelled, "Who hired you?!"

OOC: Yeah I can do that. Thanks for letting me know. I just word vomit stuff on a page and hope it makes sense. I'm so glad you let me know when it doesn't.

IC:

-"Are you kidding me?!"

The thought flashed through his mind as his knee met empty air. Not even his opening strike connected. The woman was like oil on water, twisting and turning through the air with the balletic grace of a career gymnast. But Kyle had been in the business long enough to know, NO ONE ever lunged past you without good reason. He used the momentum of his missed knee strike to carry him forward into a full spin and from here he simply allowed himself to drop, his full weight plunging him to the ground. Falling and spinning he extended his offensive knee into an impromptu inward turning kick. The shift in position dumped him into an awkward low sweeping kick covering a full 270 degree arc, but also pulled him into an improvised crouch, no longer offering up his back to her as an open target. As he dropped he looked up at the woman twisting past him seemingly caught in a still frame image of violence mixed with dark beauty, before a cold silvery sting, parted the skin of his cheek as it lanced past his face into the darkness of the night.

-"What the hell was that?!?!"

Kyle didn't have much time to consider the sensation, he couldn't even spot where the invisible steel barbs erupted from as the woman clumsily crashed to the floor of the building's roof. She sounded like she landed heavily and Kyle dug his heels into the unforgiving cold surface of the roofing to halt his momentum.

"Who hired you?" hung heavily on the air.

Kyle came to a halt facing her but off balance. Most of his weight was on his inside leg. The leg he'd used to kick, was fanned out to his side. If her ploy was to fake injury and charge in once she could gain the upper hand, in this case literally; he was in a very bad position to respond. Willing his mind forward he tried to spring off his tucked leg but couldn't force the leg to respond. He twisted slightly and felt for all the world a lion's tooth stuck in his lower back just above his sacrum nerve cluster...............

-"Who hired me?? Who hired you?! I thought we were supposed to be on the same side. What is this? You like, harpooned me with a sewing needle!"

(oh ill always let you know lol)

Her only movement was her head moving so her eyes could pin-point him again and then her arm that wasn't injured flung out. Two more needles came flying out at him, if he'd been paying close attention he'd notice her middle finger make two taps on her palm. One was aimed just below a peck so as to get past his rib cage and pierce his lung while the other, less deadly one, aimed for where his foot and ankle join which would cause him to lose all sense of balance. "That doesn't answer my question." She's concluded this guy is sloppy, definitely not an assassin, or maybe the vampires don't really want her dead and this is just another one of their little games. Either way she wasn't sticking around. She felt that she was at the edge of the roof, the back of the building and rolled off her shoulder, off of the building. With her good arm she caught herself and then braced her feet for impact as she let go. He'd hear a few metal clangs and chinks but if he looked over the side he'd see she was gone. (goin to sleep so yea, continue tmrw! she went down into the sewers btw)

Kyle registered her arm movement and grabbed the edge of his coat pulling it up to shield himself and throwing himself forward. He pulled up the thick fabric in time to catch two dull thumps before he twisted again and fished for the first needle that had punctured his back. Gritting his teeth, he found the rigid metal sliver and pinched the tip between his fingers and pulled. His leg went numb and he felt like he was about to piss himself but the three inch spear backed out slowly at first until Kyle reasserted a better grip and wrenched the needle out. He groaned but felt like he'd learned something. Afterall, a sneak attack with ANY technique only ever works ONCE. Dropping the needle with a tinkling of metal on concrete he heard the faint clattering of boots on drain pipe and some scuffing and looked up just in time to see a distinctive hair style vanish out of sight.

Kyle stood and took stock of himself, letting the woman he'd decided to name "Angel" make her escape. Other than a dull ache in his lower back, he was mostly unscathed.

-"So much for teamwork... and after I put away the Lambert too, guess there's no rules of engagement here."

Kyle considered this last flashpoint engagement closely. He'd need to change his arsenal now to deal with humans and Vampyres. Suited him just fine, he knew he shouldn't have considered teamwork a viable option. Shatter Darts and Weaponized Aerosol Vectors were gonna need to be loaded into the Lambert's magazine from here on. The Colt would need to be chrome lined and the internals reinforced for high volume H.E.A.P. round Sabot bullet useage. Additionally he'd need to have his coat installed with Stab Plate microfiber mesh to prevent subsonic projectile munitions and bladed weapons from penetrating. The "Hub's" firmware targeting should probably be changed but for that he'd need to scrap most of the additional vision profiles on record. Finally he'd need to do something about his sword... probably have to go with a Tanto tipped neuro toxin laced 8in fixed blade fighting knife or bayonet with blood catalytic activators for close range fighting, open combat was suicide in this city, he'd have to go the stealth route. Kyle withdrew an earpiece from his wrist Hub and scrolled through a set of file menus on the backlit display. Opening one he pressed twice on a screen prompt and fixed the earpiece to his right ear.

-"Hey Landry... yeah, it's me. Listen, I'm gonna need some gear and a redrawn work up of my Hub and I need that stuff tonight. Changed? No, nothing's changed, the game is the same as always, Landry. Everyone is an enemy."

Finally, Kyle decided he'd have to stop fighting by anyone else's code but his and just start killing... which suited him just fine.

(again i have like nooooo clue what you're talking about lol)

Penelope made her way back to the vampire hunter base and got herself patched up, no questions asked. Not that she'd give any answers anyways. After that she decided to sleep for once, it didn't last long though. When she woke up she figured she'd do a little research on who it was she fought last night. (reply in the vampire hunters base forum since thts where she is...)
