When I first saw the ghost babies in the school with only a flashlight and a pistol, plus the crazy sound the radio made...It felt like my heart skipped a beat in a bad way and I was full of goose bumps. The games and the movies leave in despair....when your lost in that other world its like being locked in a box without a key and no one around to help, there is a 95% chance that you wont make it out, but strangely I still watch the movies lol probably because i'm older now. I can't wait till the next Silent Hill movie comes out this 26th, but I'll leave the games alone...too stressful even at this age. Crazy sound? No way in hell was I gonna play that with the volume up. I still have that horn sound from the first Silent Hill ringing in my ears. The new movie actually looks pretty good from what I've seen from the trailer. Too bad I won't be watching it to find out. I just watched the movie...It was awesome and very Silent Hill lol Creepy and twisted as hell, but still AWESOME!!!!

It was best played with a headphones, because the enemies chasing you were invisible, and your hearing was crucial to survival. You had a sonar of sorts, which would indicate in general where the nearest enemy was in relation to you. However, your only weapon was a gun that had a long charge time, a laughably short range, and only fired a single shot per charge. Miss your timing by a second or two, and you'd be dead instantly. Saving and loading used a "battery power" mechanic, draining power each time you did either - effectively giving you limited "lives" (at least, before emulators were an option.)
