I certainly wouldn't allow the knowledge gained from having seen the anime and read the novels go to waste. In SAO due to the sad fact that there would actually be groups of sick people that would take the opportunity to kill others it's important to stay ahead of the curve. As there is no actual benefit to killing other players PKs would rarely if ever be ahead of the front line players. This in mind I would focus on leveling quickly and efficiently. I would make sure to find strong enemy groups but that are also killed at an optimal killing speed in an attempt to trump other players in exp growth. On top of that I would grind solo to get the most possible experience from the monsters killed.

It would also be important to maximize my fatigue use. Since the hunger gauge apparently doesn't actually negatively effect the player I would ignore it and simply worry about the fatigue gauge. Taking inspiration from Asuna I would take advantage of resting in safe zones as much as possible to recover fatigue. Of course not being in a suicidal state as she was I would make sure to return to town when running incredibly short on supplies or the depleted hunger gauge becomes too mentally taxing, but dramatically reducing my travel time would spike my experience curve far above that of most other existing players.

Of course I would always carry at least one teleport crystal, a healing crystal, and an antidote crystal. The battle heal skill would be a must have and I would put in the risk required to max it against lesser enemies where my health falling that low would still be relatively safe to do. Battle heal becomes even more essential when sleep PKers are taken into account. As long as I stayed as far ahead as planned I would be able to outheal any sleep-PKer that came my way when the crucial safe zone sleeping plan was in effect. I would make sure to train my trap detection skill so that I could safely open chests and never open a chest that I didn't have a 100% chance at opening safely. Item acquisition is imperative when at floor 75 level 96 was still not enough to ensure an easy boss fight. Assuming level 100 is the max in the game the last 25 floors would be incredibly dependant on equipment strength.

Sorry archery is not allowedin SAO. You can throw weapons but there is not infinite ammo, which is why Kirito does not strongly develop that skill.

There is no archery; however, one of the Unique Skills that was supposed to unlock on floor 90 among others was a skill called Shurikenjutsu. It's hard to say for sure what it would have been; however, it's likely that it may have been the only ranged focused fighting style in the game.

Keep fighting and hopefully on the way:
encounter strong (physically and mentally) players, team up as a party, and break out of the game together.

.... I hope.

Level Up by battling low level creatures (Experience Gather) until I'm strong enough to go through the quests easily. Then devolp better techniques by watching others. I wouldn't want to join a crew. I'd then just keep fighting.
Hopefully nobody would ever take off my helmet.

Honestly I haven't read up on it myself yet. I imagine it's mentioned somewhere during the Alfheim arc. The skill is listed among the 3 others on the SAO wiki though. http://swordartonline.wikia.com/wiki/Sword_Art_Online

Honestly I'd do it the same as Kirito.

Solo until it got too hard to go on without joining a guild.

Honestly if my life if is on the line I would try to avoid conflict so I would try the next best thing. I would open a smithy and sell high quality weapons at discount prices for front liners.

Lead a guild. Having people to scout and activate traps before you while paying you guild dues is a pretty sweet deal. That and insecure/ low self-esteem groupies.
