I been following almost a schedule of sorts with love.

I tend to stay single between January to July/August. Then I meet someone usually in late July or early August, we date until about January, things end for whatever reason, and I don't bother dating for about 7-8 months.

I've been doing this since 2008. I really need to change this. I would like to meet someone and finally settle down. I am 31 now, and I am not getting any younger.

When I say "love is the realm of reason", I simply mean to say that love has more to do with deep seeded memories you have with someone and the bonds you inevitably form, over time.

If I had my say, I'd say love was something that required time and effort to establish by its very nature. Platonic or romantic.

!!!

When I fell in love <3, I felt all warm and fuzzy inside.

Then she said no, then I felt like crap, literally.

But then I met someone else, and I moved on.<- I've heard that's the hardest thing to do.

Synonyms ...

If a language has 27 different words for snow, chances are all 27 of those words are referring to 27 different types of snow. Therefore, they don't all mean "snow". This topic isn't about snow, though, so you should stick to the subject.

When people declare that they've "fallen in love", what exactly do they mean by that? Love is a type of bond that takes a great deal of time to form. It doesn't simply happen out of the blue, under any circumstances, romantic or platonic.

I'm not saying infatuation doesn't exist, mind you. I'm just saying it's not possible to "fall in love". As in .. no "love on first sight", or "it was meant to be", or "I've found my soulmate!".

Do people have a problem admitting when they're simply infatuated by somebody? Is it really that bad to admit you're not actually in love with them and you're simply crushing on them?

Why do people think "infatuation" and "love" mean the same thing?

Infatuation and love are the same things in the same way that short-term and long-term memories are the same things. They're both the result of a combination of electrical signals and chemical signatures. Instantaneous long-term bonding is just as possible as instantaneous long-term memory if the individual has strong neurochemistry on their side.

In other words, in the same way that some people can memorize a book, or picture the first time they see it, others can form lasting chemical bonds which do *other* things. Frankly more important things. Mating and familial bonds are paramount to the survival of any individual born into a community of social creatures. If you can't bond to them, you'll starve, or worse, your lack of group cohesion gets everyone killed. Our ability to love each other is the most important factor in our overall survival as a species, therefore it should be no surprise that many of us primates have become so adept at social bonding that we can do it in a single look. In the span of a heartbeat the chemical process is set in motion and its impact on the mind is so overwhelmingly powerful that our brain tissue itself is permanently changed by it. Physically changed. So yes! You can look a girl in the eyes, and have your body produce a chemical reaction so strong it permanently warps your brain neurology for the rest of your life. But, you can also the reverse of that neurology and as a result become irreversibly anti-social. It's not all cheery, not for all of us, but for some, love comes easy....

Very true. Women love rebuilding projects. A lot of them feel like they're "the one" to unearth that heart of gold hidden in the deepest darkest depths of the archetypal "bad boy." Be the first to teach that wounded man what love truly is.

Rarely, it works out that way. Most of the time it doesn't though.
