First ever for me was when I started highschool on a new regular tv channel they had a segment called japanimation and they would show different movies. The first anime I have ever watched was at that same time called Crying Freeman. Just the way the scene was stuck in my mind more than any hollywood flick ever could.

Starblazers... back when it was aired on network tv at 7am on Sundays. :)

Now that I think about it, I did see Starblazers and Voltron before Outlaw Star but Outlaw was the first I recognized as Japanese anime.

The first anime I ever saw? DBZ It was during the original run of Season 1. It was the episode where Gohan turned into the Ape and Piccolo was fighting him in the dark, eventually destroying the moon. I remember thinking how weird it looked and after about a minute or so I changed the channel.
The first anime I ever went out of my way to watch? either Trigun or Gundam Wing I watched both for the first time very closely to each other. I can't remember clearly which came first, my gut says Trigun.
