For me there is no definite first...

Officially I suppose it would have to be the original transformers...
then dragonball which almost turned me off of anime...
I vaguely recall seeing guyver, but I might be confusing that with the live action one... (so long ago)
hmmmm...
Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure is definitely one of the first I really recall, but I have a feeling I saw some before this. However I am almost possitive that this is the first anime I watched a complete season of. Dual! was also the beginning of my interest in anime as a genre with RahXephon and Macross Plus sealing the deal later on.

Funny that it was all robot anime to start and now it seems it is everything but robot anime's that do it for me.

Though this was long before I knew what anime was, my first anime was definitely Samurai Pizza Cats, back in '90 and '91 when it was airing.

Didn't see another anime until Sailor Moon on Toonami, then there was Ronin Warriors, Gundam Wing, and DBZ. There was also Monster Rancher around the same time.

The first anime that I watched knowing that it was anime or of Japanese origin was Pokemon. However, my first anime altogether was probably either Speed Racer or G-Force: Guardians of Space, which I watched on Cartoon Network as a kid. I'm not sure which I saw first though.

My first anime would be the Ronin Warriors before it came on Toonami. But when Toonami launched back in in 1997 my 18+ years of anime addiction started!!!

Hmzz... I think Spirited Away was the first anime I watched besides watching random episodes of DBZ that came on TV.

Gatchaman when it was in syndication as Battle of the Planets here in the US. Around 1979-1980. I was in the first grade.

Pokemon technically, but I didn't think of it as anime. Didn't even know the term, I was 10 years old and just saw these adorable characters!

The anime I ever saw was probably Cowboy Bebop, I used to sneak downstairs to watch [Adult Swim].
Although that may have been tied with Pokemon, Digimon and Dragonball or Dragonball Z... -sigh- too many.

Even though there is a difference between saw and watched, I think Bebop satisfies both conditions for me.
