This is an issue that I've been having for a while, and it's really starting to bug me.

On my Blackberry Playbook - OS 2.0 - I sometimes have issues with subtitles. If there are two separate subtitles at the same time - for example, if two people are talking at once - the subtitles usually displayed at the top don't display. The same goes for translations of onscreen text. If I pause the video then play it again, these missing subtitles show up, and they'll continue displaying, but the problem comes back with the next set of problem subtitles. Playing videos in 720p results in all subtitles having this issue, making it to where you have to pause and unpause to see each line of dialogue.

I know the Playbook isn't high up on the list of important devices, but it would be sweet if there could be some sort of fix for this.

As a side note, this never happened before the OS 2.0 update, so it's quite likely that something was broken there and you guys can't do anything about it.

Finally! A fellow Playbook Crunchyroller! I watch a lot of my CR anime on the playbook because it's really fast and reliable, but the full screen - subtitle issue was pretty annoying.

What I do is that I just zoom in to have the show fit my screen every time.

Have you guys tried using the android app instead of the web site's flash player? If you have OS2 or newer you should be able to install android apps.

The android apps still need to be converted to be Playbook playable, unfortunately, and I don't think it exists.

Aaaahhh, I see. I thought the new OS update ran the app in a virtual environment. I wonder how hard it is to convert an android app to work on the playbook.

EDIT: A quick google search came up with the supposably easy and quick guide to convert an Android APK to a Blackberry BAR file. If I had a Blackberry I would convert the APK myself and just send it to any CR Blackberry users.

Hopefully this is something that won't be that hard or frustrating for you to do.

EDIT2: It doesn't seem to be a free work around either as it looks like you need both an Android and a Blackberry developer account which I think both require a fee.

I've converted the android app before and just tried converting the latest version, and while it works, it's pretty wonky. The browsing interface refuses to switch to landscape mode, browsing through the anime lists is laggy, and the videos appear to be stuck in SD with no way to change - on top of that, there's no way to activate the tablet interface.

Subtitles work, though the video quality isn't up to par for me. I can upload the file for others to deploy if they want to, but I wouldn't recommend using it.

Hi Just so your aware this is how the android app works its not a wonky convert you cannot switch to landscape on the browsing list on android devices either and it is sd only and was also laggy (up untill the new layout which has only been in the last week i think) so it probably converted ok its just thats how the app works lol
