Ya I love the app too. I just don't think its realistic to go all the way up to 1080p... Thats a lot of data transmission...
Lets hope the lag is from the app. I will be happy with 720p :)
I don't usually play vids in 1080p on laptop, even though my laptop is powerful enough to do so... The fan kicks in, and it gets noisy I had to crank up my tv volume (I plug my laptop to the tv).
And to be honest, if you plug ur laptop or any sort of computer into ur 1080p tvs, u WILL NOT be able to tell any difference between 720p vs 1080p. I tested both on my tv that supports up to 1080p.
Experiencing both laptop vs PS3 plugged into TV with crunchyroll,
and Nothing beats computer to tv combo for this purpose, but glad there is an app for ppl who cannot do this!

Will definitely download this to my PS3 and HDTV in the living room once you guys have all the bugs worked out and offer HD.

For now I will content myself with my HDTV and Roku box in the bedroom. It works fine and the streams don't jerk or stall.

So many folks asking "Where's the 360 app?" who've yet to realize that MS is absurdly strict with their setup. If you ever used Netflix or Hulu on the 360, you'd know that you need an Xbox Live Gold account in order to watch them. The same would be true for Crunchyroll. In other words, you'd need a subscription on top of a subscription.

That and the 360's userbase isn't as largely into anime as the PS3's.

Hey guys... I don't think 720p or 1080p is any good for PS3... It only supports b/g connections... It is not going to get enough transmission to stream HD quality videos. I already suffer from slight lags every so often (PS3 is 2 floors above my wireless connection).

Even the Crunchyroll 1080p stream is only a few megabits per second. If your 802.11g connection is that bad, don't forget the PS3 also has a network port.

Ya thanks for the advice man, but that won't do it for me unfortunately. Home connection sucks for me, wireless in the basement, and massive interference from wireless printers and shared the network to a b/g router (which I use for making my printer "wireless" with the crappy old b/g airport express I have) on ground floor, signals getting into my room topping 5mbps, usually about 1-2mbps with speedtest.net

Nothing I can do, even my n connection sucks, therefore the b/g don't even get 1mbps.

Do get strong 50mbps if right beside my router. Only solution for me is to spend 100bucks to get a new wireless n router, couple with my current router to rebroadcast wifi from main floor, hoping interference is less with multiple signals coming from same floor (instead of wt I have now, where main floor printers covered almost all my wireless signal from basement)

So yea, hoping this will solve everything, including the ps3, which should pick up more signals with the rebroadcasting...

Just need the willingness of paying another 100bucks for a damned router... being a student... and parents don't give a damn about the internet... I already bought the two routers used by everyone at home X__X

Another solution you might want to look into is a powerline networking bridge:
http://www.amazon.com/b?ie=UTF8&node=1194444

While some of these can be about as expensive as what you suggested, you don't have to worry about interference and bandwidth competition from wireless devices.

As always, be certain to read the reviews before buying.
