its pretty awsome except the fact that there are some major bugs even w/ the patch 1.1v try to fix the random skipping cuz you loose allot of subtitles and its extremely annoying

My son has the PS3 and it's working. Still with some little bugs but I'm sure people complained about this already.
I wish it worked at the Sony BD too because it's what I have at my room. Even with Sony Store signature it doesn't shows up at the menu. :(
Another great thing was the app for Samsung SmartHub. Thank you guys!!!! You saved me to have to link my laptop to the TV every time. Appreciate it a lot. THANKS A LOT!!!!!!

Still no 360 app? Oh well, when CR gets there shit together and gets a 360 app I'll renew my membership, untill then, I'll be watching on HULU, Crackle, and netflix... Toodles.

when we sign up for it, it asks for a credit card information... but it doesn't tell how much you have to pay and if it's a free trail then why do we have to give you the info up front? -.o hmm, hmm?

Any service that offers a free TRIAL asks for your credit card info up front. It's not a scam, nor is it their fault if you forget to cancel it if you were only interested in the free trial, and they bill you for the following month. Regardless glad Sony approved the patch rather quickly, and can't wait for the service to be debugged even further.

Well... I heard about crunchy roll on ign's podcast beyond today.

Had never heard of it before... was really excited to get a "netflix for animes"

couple things though.... :

1. could not purchase through credit card via the PS3 app.... it's also very lacking in details.
- What card I can use ? there's no information regarding that.
- How much am I going to be charged after the free 30 days ?
- I had to manually type canada for my country ? seriously ?
- and as I said, I could not get it to accept any of my credit cards. had to go on this site to register and make it work. so basically the free 30 days is a scam ?

2. like most people said already, I started watching a 16:9 anime on it. (Another) great quality even if it was not in HD (on a 50" screen) but the lag/skipping will make you miss subtitles which is a very big problem. top menu (triangle) will also appear at random during these skips and yes it did appear more often with this anime than any other 4:3 (though they were too problematic)

...oh and don't you dare fast-fowarding the show if you care about your ps3's health... my ps3 crashed 3 times in one evening... which is more than it usually does in a month playing games.

3. I love the idea... it was my first time using crunchyroll on any devices... BUT. I will cancel my subscription before the 14 days if there is no quick patch to fix these

Had the same issue regarding the 30 day and my CC's not working. Signed up for the 14 day and reported the issue to the moderator. This is an ongoing problem and after answering a few questions to help them narrow down the problem, I am currently enjoying my 30 days trial. I can understand the frustration that we are basically the beta testers for the ps3 app, but if you read thru the forum you will see it's a combination of CR trying to gather info on the bugs, fixing the bugs, then submitting the patches to Sony, whom then needs to approve them. There is a saying about too many cooks in the kitchen, but in CR's defense... Sony owns the kitchen so...whadda going to do?

(edit: Sorry for seeming so defensive today, however I work in customer service for a company similiar to this, which constantly tries to reinvent itself and keep up with current trends in technology...so I hear this stuff alot.)

I expect they will not be deploying it to other markets until they get the bugs ironed out.




I can think of a couple of computer services that don't require a credit card for their free trial, but they are the exception to the rule. I certainly can't think of any streaming video service that offers a free trial without requiring a credit card and beginning billing you when the trial ends if you don't cancel.
