I already do own them all and I prefer PS3 because I can use WIFI without having to pay an extra hundred dollars, or buy an HDMI cable for the Xbox 360. I never really cared for the 360 simply because I can't play 1st person shooters and to upgrade it to have the same specs as the PS3 cost twice what the PS3 does. Especially when both systems first came out. Also the controller is to bulky for my tastes.

The PS3 has a lot of great exclusives, but then again that depends on what sort of games you like. I advise trying out the uncharted series, inFamous etc (check out the others) if you like gritty ones. But since you seem to enjoy games like sonic, I think you should get little big planet if you haven't already. Its a charming and cute game. Also, Little big planet Karting is coming out and it looks like a blast.

And if you like anime-ish games you have to try Tales of Grace and Valkyria Chronicles ( really freakin' awesome). You can also get disgaea 3 if you're a fan of that. Valkyria Chronicles and disgaea are both tactic games though (if you don't like that..) but Valkyria Chronicles puts a interesting spin on the genre.

These are just off the top of my head, but you should into more. I don't really regret buying it since it fills my needs... sorta. Hooray netflix C:

I'm not much of a gamer myself though. (PC games <3 take most of my time tbh)

Well there's always Mass Effect 2 you can go through like 3 or 4 play through's and it's still pretty good. The only problem is the ME3 isn't that good and ME2 does freeze some times. Like other people said there's also Uncharted which is a lot of fun.

That's definitely the major selling point for the 360.

Same. Had a PS3 in anticipation for one game and one alone (FFXIII Versus), turned into a blu ray player with touch controls after I got my xbox and then a doorstop and then it got sold.

Now I use my 360 every day.

Well consoles war having been going on for awhile. So I'll cut it short, if you don't care about money, get both since they are both awesome. PS3 has a Blu-Ray player and the graphics are just a "lil' better than Xbox360, while Xbox360's Gold Membership are bloody mint, awesome people online and heaps of online contents as well. Both consoles have their own exclusive, Xbox360 have Gears of war series, Halo series, Fable series while PS3 have God of Wars, older FF series, Resistance, Infamous and more. But too bad Xbox games are region lock. If you're a graphic maniac, PC is the best choice : ) a bit long but "yeah"

My PS3 is a total dust catcher. It does nothing but collect dust.

I booted it three times this year:
Once to play BluBlaze for an hour (lost about an hour because of all of the updates the stupid thing did)
Once to load CrunchyRoll App and a ton of updates
And last night to watch CrunchyRoll, until I got tire of the poor playback and switch to the iPhone+AppleTV combo for CR.

I've used my Wii far more times than I have the PS3, and I have about 15 times more games on the Wii than I do on the PS3. The PS3 was an impulse buy from when the Slim came out. I had to have it so bad, that I managed to score one the week before the Slim was officially released because I managed to score one at a BestBuy that put them out before the release day. It was like "Cool I got one, now what?
And, I never got many games for it, because nothing interested me. So it was a Blu-ray player, but Blu-ray players could be had for about $50-$60, and are pretty small these days. I bought a few small Blu-ray players for my house, which has one in most of the rooms now.

I'm surprised at how many people have replied to this thread. It seems many of you agree with me, "get all three" haha, I wish I could afford all of them! If it was up to me, I'd have a Sega Dreamcast to play Sonic Adventure and Ikaruga!

Here's my view of the pros and cons of each:

Nintendo Wii
+ Diverse game library and lowest cost of entry
+ Huge on motion-control gaming
- Lacks the advanced features and capabilities of other consoles
- Region-locked games

Xbox 360
+ Very good game library for "hardcore" gamers
+ XBLA makes an already good game library even better
- Despite the advanced hardware, it doesn't quite compare to the PS3
- Xbox Live / online gaming costs good money

PS3
+ Has something for everyone with region-free games and great exclusives
+ Very advanced capabilities and free online gaming, doubles as Blu-ray player
- Game library not as good as on other consoles, or even its predecessor (PS2)
- Expensive in the long run with Blu-ray discs adding to the cost of games

As I mainly enjoy (imported) games and anime / RPG and 2D fighting genres, the PS3 seems like the best choice on paper, but there are some key games missing from its game library, which pales in comparison to that of the Xbox 360 and Wii. Still, with the media capabilities and free online gaming, it's a good all-rounder with more than the average gamer can ask for. That's why I made the decision to buy the PS3, but I can definitely see why someone would rather want the Xbox 360 or Wii. My problem with the Wii, in addition to the cons I mentioned above, is the motion-control itself. It's not that accurate, Kinect and PS Move seem better, and I just don't enjoy it as much as holding a good familiar gamepad. For that purpose, the DualShock 3 works and fits my hands better than the Xbox 360 controller or the Wiimote and Nunchuk.

The main reasons I gave up on 360 was:

- I naturally migrated from xbox to pc gaming when I got a decent laptop, just more to my liking I suppose.

- Games are cheaper for the pc, usually have the potential for better graphics and modding is allowed.

- I'm completely over physical media for games, music and movies. I would rather just download and have everything on one hard drive.

- Microsoft is the devil.

well theres only one way to get away from the 'grass is always greener' scenario and that is to buy all three consoles.

I have a 360 and a ps3 and tbh i use both a lot. PS3 has quite a few exclusives that i just couldnt live without. To state the obvious theres MGS4. Thats the kind of game that as a gamer you jut need to play. Its insane. Same goes for the 360. Lost Odyssey is imo the best rpg this gen, i couldnt miss that.

I think you'll find that you will love your PS3 if you explore some of the exclusives they have had over the years. Go buy Heavenly Sword (its dirt cheap now) and then come back and tell me how much fun you had playing it. Anyways, thats my ramblings about it~
