Sorry, I normally totally avoid the forums. So sorry if some of this has been said or not said. But I will say this first. Thanks for doing this, I've been waiting for it. I sort of like watching it on my TV. Outside of those you listed, I've had too issues.

1) I though I read some where I can get SD/420p currently. I can't change mine, if there is or I can't tell which one it is on too. But I can't wait for 720p/1080p.

2) I've had this happen to me twice today. When going through the list of the episodes, it randomly crashes on me. I was going slow too. It happened on different anime too. That's about the best I can describe it. I was just scrolling right to get to the next episode and it crashed.

Once again thanks. Other than that I'm all good once the bugs gets all fixed.

Seems like you're aware of the issue I've run into, but to give you a baseline.

I'm in NYC with a 50Mb/5Mb connection. I regularly watch Netflix & Hulu on my PS3 (Original Fat), so I'm aware of how awesome this service will be once bugs are fixed.

The only issue I've experienced is the audio video desync. This usually happens about halfway through an episode (I've been watching 07 Ghost). The first time I tried to watch an episode my PS3 froze (no input accepted and had to hard boot, but that's happened on Hulu & Netflix so I didn't think much of it.

The desync is pretty consistent at the point in an episode that it occurs.
Rewinding to an earlier point in the video, the problem persists.
Leaving the video (without exiting the application) reopening the video and FF to previous point does not fix.
Leaving the app and reentering, FF to spot, smooth sailing to the end if the app. (and in one case all the way through another).

Posted this issue in another thread but going to post it here to see if anyone else is having this problem. some shows that are on the website as simulcast arn't showing up at all on the app. You can add them to your accounts queue on the website, then when you go to the app on the PS3 the images for the shows appear in your queue but either no episodes show up or it freezes and you have to hard reset the PS3 when you try to play something. I know this is happening for atleast "Nakaimo" and "So, can't play H!". also affecting other non simulcast shows like "Astarotte's Toy".

Aside from that I've been having the same video freezing and the audio continuing problem everyone else has, but the app is great I have been enjoying catching up on "Naruto Shippuden" and the video quality looks great for supposedly non HD! cant wait to see where this goes from here!

Also another little thing i just noticed the alphabetical listing on the app is no longer alphabetical.

I'm posting this from the ps3 browser hope it works lol
Anyway, I've had all of the problems I've seen so far..(except the spanish thing)
kicked to the xmb when I've tried to play videos,
it's frozen completely on me,
playback issues like crazy at certain points, it seems like fast forwarding makes them worse, example being the video will lag badly and the audio will continue as normal.
Speaking of lag.. it can lag horribly at times.
And this is the biggest problem I've had so far, I'll be scrolling(browsing the list not skipping) through the videos specifically Bleach, and after a few times moving through them I'll hear a slight sound then get a black screen and can't do a damn thing unless I get up and turn the PS3 off with the button on it. That bothers me most of all lol

I LOVE that you guys have put an app on the ps3 I signed up as an all access memeber so I'd be very very happy if it was fixed sooner rather than later but I completely understand that "crap happens" so I appreciate that you're listening to us all and are working on it lol

Well first I gotta say 'thanks' for the app, it's very good aside from the small problems mentioned. One thing I'm curious about is if anyone else has noticed or encountered the picture lag issue at specific parts of any episodes, I have tried rewinding to catch what the characters were saying and the exact same lag happens at the same time and duration?

Well anyhoo discard this post if it's already been mentioned. Here's hoping things get smoothed out. Looking forward to using this app more. =]

In addition to all the other issues that have been mentioned a number of times, I'm also having an issue where the episode preview screens are often not accurate. If I flip through one show, then go to another show, I will often see the preview screens for the previous show on the show I'm currently looking at. Very strange.

Also, sometimes those same images just appear staticy and distorted.

I also hope the 'browse by season' option is added. I really enjoy looking up shows that way on the PC. Thanks.

Saw on several posts that there are few anime shows that are not available on the PS3 for streaming. And I noticed that my PS3 queue is actually shorter than my PC queue. Will we see this shows at a later time, or is this due to license issues (so never =( )?

even though i get some dysyncing..the streaming gotten better compared to yesterday

Same issues as everybody else. I'm on a PS3 slim on a wired connection and have experienced everything from the audio/video desync to the random crashing while changing episodes to the freezing causing a hard reset.

The only thing I can contribute is that pausing for a bit also seems to make the audio/video desync. If you leave it paused for a while (3-5 minutes), when you come back and press play the timer will remain at the same mark while the episode continues to try and play normally but with noticeable audio/video desync. Logging in and out also doesn't seem to always help this issue and the lag seems consistent, i.e. occurs in the same place.

I'm very happy the app is out and will be even happier when these issues are fixed, and I'm very glad you guys are aware of some of the issues.

I am not able to view anything at all. I have signed in and out several times, I can see the titles of everything, and I have the option to play, but when I select an episode, I just get a black screen,

First, like everyone else, thanks for releasing the app on the PS3. So now to my issue: I was able to download, sign in and start to play episodes with no problems. No crashing at all. However, about 10-15 seconds after I start the episode and it runs, there is a small delay, then the video goes unreadable. Like the output is not in 480, more like 360. The picture becomes pixelated and it's impossible to read the subtitles. I have an original PS3 60GB (fat body) and a 48-inch Samsung 1080p TV. Any ideas?
It may just be my wireless network runs slow. Anyway, looking forward to 720/1080, but may just stick with my computer/iPad for now.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with issues. Came here to address the framerate and audio out of sync but looks like you guys are going a patch!

Think I'm going to wait a bit to watch on the PS3 until this is resolved. You guys are the greatest and thank you for bringing CR to a console!

I've already sent an email through the contact form, but now that there is a sticky thread for the PS3 I thought I should add a new problem I have found that I have not seen anyone else complain about.


The PS3 app does not resume videos. The videos always start from the beginning.


I've got a Fat PS3 purchased in 2007.

The bad video quality is most likely caused by a network slowdown. The app seems to be very sensitive in slight fluxuations in bandwidth. It may not specifically mean it is your network. It could also be caused by high demand on CR's servers. I still get lowered video quality sometimes even though at the same exact time I am streaming the video, my ipad can get over 20mbps download speed on speedtest.net. I also noticed that it does this more often if I pause a video for a few minutes.

I know that the PS3 has a very small amount of system RAM, even compared to the Xbox, and I wonder how much is available for video apps to use for buffering a video. It seems that the buffer size is very small.


One thing I have noticed when it does this is that it takes a long time to go back to the higher quality. A way to quickly fix this is to just tap the L2 button when the quality drops (It will go back a few seconds) and the video will reload with the highest quality.
