Hello, the app is not working on my PS3, which is a 160GB slim.
When I open the app at the "Welcome" and "Samples" tabs it just says "Unable to retrieve data. Please try again."
When I try to log in it says "Error."
I have logged in at the website and on my iPhone.
Please help.

New videos don't play for awhile, even though it lists them as being available. When playing Humanity has Declined when it did start playing the video was very fuzzy and the sound was tinny. What is the resolution on the PS3 app 480P?

The reason why you see a low quality video first is because CR encodes several different versions of each video for each device. IE, a low quality, medium quality, and high quality version so that the app can switch between the three (Or how ever many quality levels they actually have) depending on your connection speed. Low quality video encodes the quickest which is why you are seeing the low quality video first. As the higher quality videos finish encoding your video quality increases.

Currently seeing "You must be logged into your Playstation Network account in orderto use this application. Please log in and try again."

I am logged in. I have restarted my PS3 twice. Nothing helps. Please advise.

im having the same problems like satoshi42 and its happenings alot more where it hits the spinner then what he said brings it back to video menu and sometimes get black screens then logs me out but at the same time where it just frozes my ps3 then having to turn it off and having to wait a long time bc it just frozed sorta in a bad mood bc should be fine on my connection and i live in colorado/usa

What I don't understand is why the app was working great before, but ever since they got done reencoding the anime, I have trouble trying to watch anything now. It's super laggy and buffers slowly. I'll pause it and let it buffer, but only get half a minute from waiting five minutes.

Like most people, I could just go to another site and watch this stuff for free, but I really do think having it on my PS3 and watching it on my big tv while in bed or something is worth paying for, so I really hope this all gets straightened out soon.

My Crunchyroll app on PS3 is crashing several times a day.

It is normally happening when I move forward/right several times in a row on video selection screen or fast forward several times in a row. Since it crashes to a black screen while the system is still on, not the main PS3 menu, this requires a hard reset everytime. I love the app, but I am getting concerned this may cause damage to my system.

While I think this is a software problem, I have a gen 1 80GB PS3, for the record. I am in NC/VA on a 3mb/sec internet service, but I doubt that's an issue either.

So... by hard reset you mean flipping the switch on and off on the back of the device right?
You can hold your finger over the power button and after a few seconds it will shutdown. I would turn off the device this way.

Also, how often do you power down your device?

This could be happening if you leave your PS3 on for extended periods of time.

By hard reset, I mean I have to physically turn off the machine - usually using the on/off button in the front. I did have to switch it off at the back switch a couple of times though.

Can you tell me if you currently have your PS3 set up for Automatic DNS and Static IP?

I've never set up a Static IP for it, so I would guess it's set up for Automatic DNS.

Okay, let's give this a try first.

To set a Static IP:

Also, is the machine wired or on Wi Fi? (Don't remember if this was mentioned earlier, but I didn't see it!)
