Unfortunately Sony does not allow Mature Content on the PS3, so shows that are marked as Mature on our website will not be available via the PS3 app.

Should be resolved now.

Thanks for replying. I see how both could be deemed mature content. Didn't think of that.

I know you mentioned this before, and I brought it up a few pages back, but can this be looked into to get all of the facts straight?

It is just confusing because titles that are marked as Mature are showing up for me and play on the PS3. Queens Blade, School Days, Astarotte's Toy, and Moribito play back just fine on my PS3.

EDIT: Not sure what happened, must have accidentally deleted this line.

Can CR get a hold of both Sony and Apple and ask them why they both say they do not allow Crunchyroll to stream mature content, but they both allow Netflix, and Hulu to stream mature content? Apple also allows HBO to stream their mature content shows with the HBO GO app.

Not only do most streaming services that have PS3 apps have mature content, but they have Queen's Blade (not the TV edit version either). And even Sony's own PSN video store has Queen's Blade. It's not like they're singling out anime, there's plenty of Funimation booby shows available on Vudu, Amazon, and PSN through the PS3. Even the Laugh Factory app pops up a huge warning when you start it that it contains mature content. Pretty sure even highly-questionable stuff like Dance in the Vampire Bund is available on most of those services, including Sony's.

I'd understand if Crunchyroll wants to put out a free ad-supported version of the app there might be problems with mature content, but we're not at that point yet. When that happens, I can understand if mature content is only available to subscribers on the PS3, but there's no reason why Crunchyroll should be the only PS3 video app to not have mature content.

Regarding Kurokami and The Tower of Druaga, I have a wired connection. I don't have these kinds of problems with other anime I've watched via the service. I watched all of Beast Player Erin, with zero playback glitches. (I still had the known issues with the app where it crashes sometimes, and you have to quit/restart occasionally)

As far as the app itself, the main problem looks like a memory leak. I notice if I don't do certain things, I can avoid aggravating it.

For example, if I browse a bunch of anime, it slowly gets slower and slower until it's unusable, and has to be quit or the PS3 rebooted.
If I watch anime, and at the end of the episode, let it auto-load the next episode, or use the R1/L1 buttons, it generally slows down to the point where it can't play the show anymore. However, if I quit, and select the next anime manually after each episode, it lasts much longer before I have to reboot.

I also suspect having a large queue makes it worse, as every anime you load the preview for when moving over to select the one you want to watch, seems to make the app less likely to survive for multiple episodes. If I quickly move to the end/beginning of the queue and watch that one, it plays more episodes per run.

What is even more confusing is what I mentioned in my post above. Bjaker says that Sony does not allow Mature content yet all of the mature titles on CR play back just fine on my PS3, yet others are unable to see those same shows.

got the latest patch and got through a couple of Eyesheild 21 episodes and two episodes of Eureka 7 just fine.
When I let Eureka 7 episode 20 continue into episode 21 though, it skipped forward to two and a half minutes.
I tried to rewind, but it just skipped forward again.
I tried it again and it kicked me out of the app.
I decided to try again, but this time when I rewound I had the "crash" problem.
I'm currently watching Episode 21 on my laptop and I noticed that it looks like I haven't watched episode 20 at all because there is no orange bar under it.
Other than that I have found nothing else wrong and think you guys are doing a great job!

edit: just noticed a comment saying there were server issues around midnight. That might have been what caused my problem, but I'm leaving this comment up just to be on the safe side.

I keep having a problem with simulcast shows, specifically SAO and Campione. When i go to watch them on Saturday or Friday, on the PS3 when CR says they should be available they wont play, even when i log out and back in or reset my router, I generally have to wait several more hours after the time they should be available in order to watch. is anybody else having this problem?

There is up to a 7 hour delay for shows to fully sync across all other devices from the time they get posted on the website. CR has said they are trying to find ways to get rid of the delay.

Yeah, they work on mine too. I've been finishing up Queen's Blade 2 on my PS3, even though it still needs re-encoding. My worry is that they'll either make it so I can't watch mature titles on my PS3 any more, or they'll never fix it so others can.

I'm sure the CR reps are being honest, but "Unfortunately Sony does not allow Mature Content on the PS3" is about as true a statement as "Microsoft does not allow first-person shooters on the 360". I know they have to say what Sony tells them to say when it comes to the PS3, but I'm still trying to understand the circumstances in which Sony uttered such a hilarious statement.

In other words, there's gotta be more to this story.

finally decided to download for ps3 since the newest iphone update is having issues.
when i downloaded it asked to update to version 1.04 to be able to use.
tried to load program after update and all i got was a brief loading screen and then just a blank screen.
i let it sit for a few minutes and nothing happened.had to end up restarting system to be able to go back to the ps3 screen.
i have already deleted and reinstalled already with same issues.

anyone else having this problem?
