When trying to play Medaka Box season 2, if I either try scrolling thu the episodes or pressing R2 to skip to season 2, the PS3 beeps, the screen goes black and it locks up.

These are some of the problems that I have been having.

 It will freeze when loading movies.
 The program will just close itself when loading
 Takes a lot of time just to show the queue

This program is a cool idea, but it needs work.

Same thing here, same anime. While moving through the videos to get to the season 2 episodes... crash.

While I appreciate the giving of HD to the PS3 client you are ignoring the audio issues. My Onkyo TX-NR809 reads your app as Dolby Digital, being a developer I know this is something that can be set in programming of the app.

Now you may ask, why is this an issue. Well, most if not all anime is PCM 2.0, when played on the boxee the audio is PCM 2.0 and my receiver converts it to Dolby PL II Movie. The boxee uses my center channel speaker for main dialog and the other 5 channels for effects as it should be, the PS3 doesn't. It's taking the 2.0 sound and because the PS3 thinks its already a DD signal its passing it to my DAC which is passing all audio to the two L/R speakers and not voices to the center, and is distributing nothing to the rest to the other 5 channels.

I'm grateful the PS3 app has HD now, but can you please FIX THE SOUND? Voices are meant to come out of the center channel, not the L/R speakers. The boxee has much better sound because it leaves the audio in its raw PCM 2.0 format and any receiver can do the translation to PL or whatever..

Thanks

I'm having the exact same issue with regards to Medaka Box.

Also Ive been rewatching Horizon on the middle of Nowhere season 1 again and when I go to watch episode 4 the video seems broken when viewing on the PS3 app. Specifically it plays a few seconds then jumps forward several minutes and does this repeatedly. Ive checked and the episode itself plays just fine on the main site on my PC. Not sure if there are any problems with the later episodes but the first 3 worked fine on my PS3.

Just wondering, as I haven't had a chance to check this myself with my surround speakers, but what connector are you using? TOSLINK, Digital Coax, Direct?

The reason I ask is because on my computer, using the digital coax messes up the PLII built into my speakers (Logitech Z680s) and they do the same thing as what you are describing as having with the PS3. However, if I switch to TOSLINK the built in PLII decoder works as intended.

Also, how do you have the PS3 setup under the audio settings? IIRC, the PS3 can be setup to passthrough or decode DD and PCM signals itself. Changing the settings on the PS3 may solve your issue.

I havn't used the PS3 app very much and have not paid attention to the audio (mainly only ever started it to help someone else troubleshoot). The next time I use the CR app on the PS3 I will remember to check the audio.

I'm using HDMI direct, I have PCM 2.0 enabled within the PS3 sound settings. I know it works because when I stream things via PS3 media center it can stream PCM as well as DD.

I'll likely stick to the Boxee, I just wanted to try the PS3 client since it was there and now in HD. The audio is an annoyance and so long as they keep presenting it as DD the PS3 will keep passing it that way. The only work around is to disable DD, but since a lot of games use DD I'm not keen to enabling and disabling it just for CR.

Just came in to report that I'm also having issues with Medaka Box S2 on the PS3. Plays fine on Roku.

ETA: Also seems to be a problem with "So I Can't Play H". I noticed for both this and Medaka Box there's no episode summary text when you scroll to the series on the queue page, while other series I've watched with no problem on the PS3 (like Campione!) the summary for the next episode is displayed at this level.

Hi. Just wanted to inform that I still can't play any episodes on the PS3. It's happening with all series

I've just started using the PS3 app and it's so unstable as to be completely unusable. Pressing the square button to select an episode crashes my PS3 virtually every time, and even pressing circle to exit a currently playing video crashes the app most of the time. How this ever got past Sony QA is amazing.

I'm on a PS3 slim using wifi.

For some reason I can't login to the Crunchyroll app now on the PS3. I am typing the right email and password and it won't let me in. I tried uninstalling the app and even de-activating my PS3 from the device list and still no luck. HELP!
