Hello, PS3 app is working great, thanks for this.

I cannot view any drama though, it says, "Upgrade to an All-Access membership at crunchyroll.com/upgrade_plan". I purchased the all access plan for 1 year (thanksgiving deal) but it is still not letting me view any drama.

I think the problem is that I started a 2 weeks free trial and in my account it says, "Anime Membership - 2 Week Free Trial - Active", and below that it says, "12-Month Crunchyroll All-Access Membership - Prepaid".

Does anyone know how to cancel the 2 week free trial so the all access membership starts?

EDIT: Sorry, just found a thread saying to contact Bjaker and he'll get it fixed so that's what I did.

I'm havng problems with the app on my ps3 slim, I just recently became a member today so not sure if that's the problem since its the 2 free trial or not but when I'm watching any show it keeps freezing I checked my wireless wifi but that dosent seem to be the reason, its kinda getting annoying with the waiting really would appreciate it if someone let's me know what is wrong with my ps3 or the cr app thanks.

Same type of problems on our end. CrunchyRoll works fine through the Roku but once the black screen pops up on the PS3 it's pretty much done for the day (or at least it typically works for a while by the time we start it again the next night).

Like just a few minutes ago we were watching an episode of Bleach and I accidently hit R1 instead of R2 and skipped ahead to the next episode. Hit back, went to the menu, and tried selecting the correct video. It immediately sounded a small "beep" and went to a black screen which forced me to do a hard reset on my system. Started everything back up, entered the app again, went back to the episode, and the same thing happened again. This occurred after already having watched 3 episodes prior with no problems. Last night when it started acting up (after watching around 3 episodes) we went through 4 resets before giving up...

3rd night in a row with this issue (but I hadn't pulled up CR for at least a week prior). I can't keep resetting my system like this!

Another odd issue last night: I went to select an episode after the 3rd reset and instead of going to black screen it booted me back to my main PS3 menu! Like it forced the CR app to shut down. But then when I went back into it and tried for the 4th time it black screened and we just let the poor console rest for the night =/

I just signed up for the free trial and I have experienced the infamous "black screen" a dozen times. It usually happens while scrolling through my queue. Every time it happens I have to shut down the PS3 and turn it back on again. I was pretty excited to find this application on PS3 and I was planning on purchasing a membership but after all this I am not so sure...

I even uploaded the most recent update before I posted this and...you know. I had to shut down the PS3 yet again. That's too bad.

I just signed up for the trial today and I can already tell that sadly I wont be taking advantage of the 50$ membership deal and signing up with crunchyroll.

I mainly was going to use this with the PS3 app since that is hooked up to a HDTV and nice sound system whereas my pc is kind of poop.

But the app keeps crashing when browsing for episodes. BTOOM wasn't showing up in the alphabetical list of anime available. I went to my profile here on crunchyroll.com and checked my account settings and put mature filters on and more shows showed up in my ps3 app, but I checked my account options on the ps3 app....and there are none, it just says if I wanted to sign out or not. So I had to come on my pc to mess with my account settings which was a real turn off.

Tried to watch some other anime shows and got a "data could not be received" message which was irritating. The final straw was when I tried to watch an episode of queens blade and my ps3 hard crashed while either trying to load an episode or browse through the episode queue.

Tons of problems and not worth the hassle. Im sad I won't be using crunchyroll because Netflix just isn't doing it for my anime fix (their selection is poor and is hardly ever updated), but this wonky app isn't helping either. Oh well.

Dios it sounds like you're having a lot of the same problems we are! But the problems on CrunchyRoll are limited only to the PS3 and (as far as I've noticed this past year) do not extend to their Roku and Computer applications. So if you're hesitant to become a member from the fear of problems popping up on other platforms you don't have to worry! I myself definately prefer to watch things on my TV vs. the computer but I can make due if the problem is fixed quickly.

To CrunchyRoll's credit when they first put CR on the PS3 it was so stuffed full of issues that it was practically useless but they handed out patches within a few hours of each complaint...very timely! It was like they bit off more than they could chew by extending into the PS3 network but they tightened their belt and got down to business instead of throwing up their hands and giving up. And they respond readily to these forums (unlike PS3 forum administrators who are practically ghosts) to help keep you up to date on things. The PS3 application was working prefectly for me until recently but I think someone tinkered around and it got screwed up...hopefully they'll have it fixed soon and you'll reconsider your membership! I feel your pain on Netflix's anime selection...terrible!

The problems seemed to slowly be getting fixed. Since im still on the trial I decided to give it another shot last night and I was able to watch some episodes now without the crashing incidents on my PS3. Im still bugged by the fact you really have no options for your account settings via the ps3 app as opposed to what you can do here on a pc which is strange, makes me wonder why that account menu button even exists on the ps3 app if theres no options in there other than to sign out.

But yeah, its working better now, but the weekend sale is over which is what enticed me in the first place. Sadly the wonky weekend did its damage already and I won't be signing up now, due to the performance during the weekend sale period. I'd plop down 50$ had it worked but sadly that window is closed. Maybe next time.

Can you walk me through exactly what happens starting from when you open the app?
Can you also try a wired connection to see if it helps at all?

Does this happen on shows that are currently in your queue?
If so, please try deleting and reinstalling the app.

It's more than likely something bad in the cache.

Are you running the app over Wi Fi, or is your machine wired?
The app works infinitely better over a wired connection.

You can also try setting up Static IP or Automatic DNS to see if this resolves the issue.
