The app automatically adjusts the video quality. There is no way to manually select the video quality, although it is a feature that is wanted and has been suggested by many members previously. It may get introduced in a future update.

First off let me just say that the app is great and use it quite a bit on the PS3, and probably will use it more son on the 360 once it comes out to see which one works better.

Second, you guys should REALLY merge all the flippen PS3 related threads to just one thread, you have a thread where people are posting bugs in the news section, in the thread that talked about the release, and here as well, it's just a big cluster [self censored]. It's fine if you want to make a new thread about an update but lets be honest, you only need one (1) thread where to post updates and patch releases in the first or second post and let the people post bug reports in that said thread, and if you do make a new thread about a patch, please close it so no one can post in it and link to the appropriate thread to post bugs to keep things tidy and not make it such a cluster [self censored] like it is now. I learned this from other forums and experiences, it just works.

Now that's out of the way, like most other people that posted in the http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-773775/ps3-an-update-from-support thread (too lazy to go through here), I will randomly experience chopping/lag but it normally happens after the 5th or 10th video watched in a row to the point that it crashes the app and restarts the PS3.

I've gotten used to it and notice the signs that I will exit out of the app and restart it before it force closes or force restarts my PS3. There has been times, though, when I go to exit out of the app it still force restarts my PS3. I know it's still technically new but really should think things through with how the app will run overall and implement some sort of catch all exception errors so that it won't just force close or restart the PS3, heck, make it so it can close gracefully instead of a state of shock along with an actual bug report feature that goes back to your PS3 developers so they know what they're dealing with (not sure if that's acceptable per Sony's developers' TOS but if it's allowable, that will be your best chance of getting correct information of how it's being used on what systems so you can better tune the app to work better overall).

Welp, anyways, I hope you at least heed to the second thing I said about merging all your PS3 threads into one thread (in fact, do it with all your Android, and whatever other supported devices threads into their own threads as well into 1) to streamline things.

Now, for some information about my PS3 for your developers know that I'm not just some "moron user who thinks they know nothing telling us what to do" to know what kind of system they're dealing with.

Phat, original, PS3 80GB, the one that came with MGS4 (Metal Gear Solid 4, if you had no ideal what MGS4 stands for) on an Ethernet connection going through CenturyLink, the gateway is a Q1000 that's in bridged mode though an Linksys E3000 with DD-WRT after market firmware which then goes through a D-Link switch to where my entertainment center is located to my PS3 (yes, my network is a mess but works dang it!) on a 40Mbps connection speed and average about 35Mbps connection on my HTPC that's connected to the said switch that the PS3 is connected to. I know it's not the network, it's the app but I provided you this tech details so you can not say it's my network :p

Yes, the forums are cluttered and I'm working on streamlining the help section as well as working with the other moderators to do clean up. However, we're a small team so changes take time.

As far as the issues you're experiencing - they're known memory leak problems with the PS3 itself.
I'll make sure to pass pertinent information along to the engineers.

And of course I know what MGS4 stands for! Those were also the last phat PS3 that were backwards compatible. *nod*

Anywho thanks for suggestions and also comments and we'll work to make it all better!!! :O

(XBox app is slick btw. )

Hello I am using the app for the PS3 with so far its awesome!

The problem is I cant get two anime on here

1.Btoom

2.All of Medaka Box

The message on both says "Unable to retrieve data. Please try again".

I have over and over again plus I have restarted my internet and my Ps3

If you can help me out I would greatly appreciate it

Step one!

Step two!
Go here and make sure you have 'Show Mature Content' enabled - https://www.crunchyroll.com/acct/?action=video

Step three! (Not Mandatory)
Add it to your Queue.

This should enable playback for the show.

When I try to play Btoom! on my PS3 the screen goes to load but then stays dark. I can't bring the PS menu back up or do any sort of navigation within the CR app. I have to hard reboot the system to proceed. Other shows I've tried don't experience this problem. I'm playing it from my queue.

The PS3 app is very buggy. Sometimes it crashes my PS3. Also, as of late it has been buffering too a lot, to the point were it renders the anime unwatchable.

I was attempting to watch Bleach episode 190 and it started to lag behind the audio. I stopped and played 191 and the OP was lagging too. I fast forwarded to later in the episode and the same thing. I quit the CR app and restarted it. I tried to watch 190 again and the video is still lagging. I stopped and watched Cat God ep 1 with no issues.

Seriously, I tried to use the app right now and I can't even start a show at all. It goes right back to the selection screen.
