Can someone please from crunchyroll dev team to look into why the crunchyroll ps3 app hard crashes my ps3 are use of the app for an hour veiwing content. After viewing content for abvout an hour and browsering within the app, it blanks my tv screen and i can hear the ps3 system error noise notification going off indicating the app crashed. After that point I am stuck on the blank screen and i can not do anything and I can't even use the ps button to bring up the xmb menu to quit out of the app.. The only way to get out from this is a hard rest on the ps3 by pressing the power button. Can someone please look into this.

my specs

ps3 slim 120GB model
ISP ATT U-verse 12mbps service
ps3 is connected via WIFI

This is cause by a memory leak that CR is trying to fix. They recommend restarting the PS3 after extended periods of use to avoid freezing.

Also, don't worry about the hard reset. If you are doing a reset by pressing and holding the front power button until the system beeps, that isn't a hard reset. It is basically the same as doing a CTRL-ALT-DLT > Shutdown on a Windows PC. However, if you are using the rocker switch in back or unplugging the system, then that is a hard reset and can damage the system.

Thanks Chris for the info. I hope they squash that bug in the app asap. I guess for extended viewing I will have to use the 360 app til then.

I just wanted to follow up on my earlier post about the problem with 480p/720p switching I was having. That problem returned albeit not as bad as it was before. Through some research, flashing to DD-WRT's forums' recommended build, and settings adjustments, I've figured out the router itself is to blame. I found out it doesn't play nice with DD-WRT so the connection speed drops really low when dealing with large file transfers hence the resolution drop with the PS3 app. The stock firmware is terrible and needs power cycled regularly so that's not an option. The router is old and outdated anyways.

I'm going to buy a new one. Problem solved.

My earlier post about setting the TCP Timeout setting to 3600 and it fixing it wasn't right so don't use that as advice if somebody using DD-WRT is having the same problem.

I am having the same problem that others are having regarding the video stopping/pausing. It appears that its a buffering issue but I have never had this problem with any other video provider. Is there a fix? I have a 10mb download connection and the ps3 is wired to the router.

Hopefully they can fix it quickly, but this bug has been around ever since the app was released and IIRC it is a system level bug, which makes it harder for an app developer to fix. As to why it does not effect other apps, I have no idea, but for whatever reason something in the CR app is triggering the memory leak.

Hmm...
Did you download the app from the 'Channels' page or from the PSN store?

That´s pretty much imposible right now as PSN is having maintenance right now so i can´t redownload the app to reinstall it,

On second thought could this be related to the maintenance?

It would be pretty weird if that was the reason as the Netflix app is working ok now but one never knows....
