If the app is saying 'You need to log into the PSN'...

Sony Entertainment Networks is currently undergoing maintenance.

:/

Which means the PS3 app will be unavailable until they are finished!

Sorry guys!!!

just one question:
Why is this happening with the CR App while other apps are working normally?

That I don't know.
I'm sorry that the app is currently unavailable.

This is Sony Maintenance not CR.

I didn't need to test anything on the PS3 yesterday.
But just now I went and opened Netflix and it said I needed to log into the PSN, tried, got the maintenance message & Netflix wouldn't work.

I ask this because i have a couple of accounts and in the ones i diodn´t log in recently i can´t access anything.

Just checked PS Blog and apparently that is the issue.

The PlayStation Store and Account Management will not be available during the maintenance period, but you will be able to access online play and apps provided that you have signed into PlayStation Network at some point between now and the time of the maintenance. So please be sure to sign in now if you wish to access the Network during Thursday’s maintenance window.

i wonder why netflix can sign in (and always has been able to) without being logged into PSN. crunchyroll should take some pointers from netflix on a number of things (streaming stability, sign-in, etc.). this is annoying. :/

Netflix has well over 25 million paid streaming subscribers (in the U.S. alone), while CR earlier this year passed 100,000. It should be needless to say that Netflix has considerably more resources than CR and a lot more muscle to flex.

perhaps... though when it all comes down to it, it's mainly programming. netflix (probably through monetary subsidized research) has managed to figure new things out. but, really, it's a matter of looking at what they've done and trying to reverse engineer the same product. i hardly think crunchyroll and netflix are in direct competition since they feed different markets... so i see nothing wrong with them trying to figure it out to further benefit their own paying customers. i also like the fact that netflix has an auto adjusting quality system for those of us with slower connections. it would be nice not only crunchyroll, but other streaming companies did the same (hulu included). i hate having to pause to buffer.

Well CR is working for me on my ps3. You had to be online the day before yesterday in order to be able to sign in. As for the guys in charge you guys should be aware and up to date with psn to know when a maintence is going to happen. So if this were to happen again you can at least inform everyone that hasn't checked up with the Playstation Blog already that a maintenance is coming soon. So as for my problems with the CR app on ps3 is quite abundantly annoying. I am experiencing out of sync subtitles and the app crashing after a two second loading screen. I have yet to try the possible solutions such as uninstalling the app and switching to a wired connection. Although if it would help in gathering info for a possible solution. I'll be glad to help!
