Hello I’m a new user to Crunchyroll I currently signed up to the trial and have been attempting to watch both anime and dramas for a day or so. Since the time of my sign up I have noticed several problems and would like to see if these are common.

1. Black screen – Loaded video – could hear sound screen was black
Fix = Restart ps

2. Video loaded with no sound
Fix = Restart application

3. Watching video 10-20 minutes – loss of sound
Fix = Restart Application

4. Freezing video 10-20 minutes
Fix = restart application – whole PlayStation froze

5. Lagging – video and audio was no longer in sync
Fix = PlayStation lagged had to restart – restart failed had to remove power supply

Please understand that before we get the typical my PlayStation is broken – I have a 50mb connection – I pay for and use Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon, All of which do not suffer these problems and run just fine.

My best guess is that this is a high memory issue at least that’s how it would seem to me.

As a new user I hope these are not common problems. However I thank you for the trial and will continue to watch with the trail in hopes of seeing some updates or fixes soon.

This may help with some of your issues (depends on what shows you are trying to watch), but try setting the mature content filter to "show mature content" at the following link and see if playback improves. https://www.crunchyroll.com/acct/?action=video

If you are still experiencing problems, contact the CR support team using their contact us page. http://www.crunchyroll.com/help?topic=contact

There is a system level bug that causes a memory leak in the CR app after extended uses as well, but usually only causes problems after an hour or two of using the app. CR has been trying to figure out what part of the app triggers the bug. (We can also wait and hope that Sony fixes the bug)

What episodes and at what time are you experiencing out of sync subtitles? The subtitles are hard encoded so if they are out of sync, they would be out of sync for everyone and would mean that the episode would need to be re-encoded, but CR needs to know exactly what episodes are having issues with the subtitles.

As for the app crashing after a loading screen, does this occur while trying to load an episode? Go to the following link and set the mature content filter to "show mature content" and see if the app still crashes. https://www.crunchyroll.com/acct/?action=video

I experienced out of sync subtitles for Naruto and Naruto shippuden. For Naruto ep 131-133 while there are fighting and during the beginning of some others I can't remember. Naruto Shippuden ep 79-112 I think 42-56 also when I'm searching videos on any show my ps3 freezes then goes to a black screen then makes a ps3 beep then freezes entirely and I have to shut it off also I already have the mature content enabled

when I try to open up the list of videos for a specific show, the system locks up, and a grey/black screen is displayed. The only option to get out of the Crunchyroll software at that point is to shut the system down manually, via the buttons on the console.

Is there a way to resolve this on my end?

Hi, I am having a problem with the ps3 streaming of anime episodes today and yesterday. My internet is working, crunchyroll is working for my computer, and my ps3 works with hulu.

The app loads quickly and I can move between menus easily but when I go to play an episode their is 20-40 seconds of black screen before the episode starts. When it does start it is tremendously slow: only 15 or so seconds of the episode loads by the time the app bumps me to the next episode. Hoping that this can be easily fixed on some end. Thanks.

This is due to a memory leak that CR is still trying to figure out how to resolve within the app. (Its a system level bug, but something in the app keeps triggering it after extended periods of use, they have to figure out what is triggering it)

The current recommendation is to restart the PS3 after a couple episodes or so before the leak becomes big enough to cause the system to freeze.

CR has been having an issue with their CDN recently effecting certain users, so he may have you run some tests to determine what server you are getting your stream from and can have you try some things to help improve the performance.

Provide as much information as you can. The type of PS3 you have, if it is wired/wireless, your internet service provider, ect...

When i first loaded the app onto my P3 it worked fine for a day and 1/2 then it stoped so then P3 peeps told me to uninstall the app then reinstall it... So now the P3 will not the the up date after install on my P3

It;s wired I have 30 up 5 dl in ohio

So after 2 days and told of 4 hours I said *&^%$%%$% this.

So any tips or info to help on this since play station says it's you guys and you guys are telling me it's them.. Do you have a ipad help thread? not found it yet becuse I DL it on my ipad and it doing the same thing it plays nothing... but it plays great on my PC but then I have to pick watch anime or game....
