For all you reporting since my last post, are you watching on Wired machines or on Wi Fi devices?

Mine is wired. Also I managed to watch like 5 episodes in a row which made me incredibly happy lol There are frequent pauses during the episodes but at the moment I'd take that over the other issues I've had. So far it's just the black screen during browsing forcing a hard reset that bothers me.
Thank you guys very much for patching it up as well as you did though lol

Watching on a wired connection, still stuttering issues though def better. I havent had my system crash since the update either, but the stuttering which results in missing dialogue is still an important fix.

I don't know if it's HD or not, but after watching Digimon Xros Wars, the picture quality has definitely been improved. However, I'm sorry to say that the stream still lagged periodically. In short, there has been some improvement, but not much.

(Apologies for seemingly random questions.)

Slim, Wi-Fi, occasional stutters but happening at FAR less a frequency than before. Actually quite watchable, still not up to par with the PC CR, but much better.

PS3 Slim. Videos hit a snag and freeze every few minutes while the audio keeps going then the video pulls a Benny Hill to catch up to the audio. This is with version 1.01 and the most recent PS3 firmware update.

I have a PS3 Fat 80gb model (with a 640gb HDD). I have it hard wired to a D-Link AP-1522 Xtreme N Duo Wireless Bridge/AP. My bridge connects to my D-Link DIR-855 Xtreme N Duo Router wirelessly over a 5ghz 802.11n connection with a strong signal. Home internet connection is RoadRunner Extreme 15mbps, but I normally get between 20-30mbps because of turbo boost, and my pings are always around the 20-30ms range. (My desktop also goes through the wireless bridge and has no problem streaming videos are playing multiplayer games.)

Does CR only have PS3 Slim test units, or have they been able to get their hands on Fat units since they are out of production?

Was the video pausing issues present in the in house test units? Do you guys have a direct connection to your hosting servers, or are you also testing over an internet connection? I'm just wondering if the video playback issues are possibly a buffering issue caused by fluctuation in the client's internet speed. I know that when watching HBO GO the video quality goes up and down like a roller-coaster, but Netflix plays back fine like as if it buffers more of the video.

Before patch (and not on the Dev kits) we were experiencing all the same problems.
After patch, we're now experiencing HUGE improvements. There have been a few crashes from AutoPlay, but for the most part the PS3 Slim has been streaming via Wi Fi all day without issues.

We're testing over an internet connection.

There is built in quality (Having a brain fart on how to say it) Video quality does adjust based on connection.

But yeah, we are testing it as if we're a normal every day user.

That is good to know that you guys can replicate the problems in house. Would kind of suck if everyone but the CR dev team was experiencing the problems.

I wonder what is different between the Dev kit and a real PS3 that would cause the app to work perfectly on the Dev kit but not an actual console.

Anyways, thanks for keeping us updated.

Hello Bjaker,

I'm still experiencing video stuttering and getting a black screen that requires me to press the power button to shut off the PS3 while watching videos after the patch. The first issue is the video will stop playing but the audio continues for about 5 to 10 seconds then the video will resume. The second issue with the black screen is it appears to be random for me. I have had it go to a black screen after pressing R1 to watch the next episode of a show and it has also happened in the middle of a episode. Hope this feedback helps the QA.

I have a PS3 slim 250GB with software version 4.21 hooked up to a wired connection with a 60mb connection.
Crunchyroll App is version 1.01

-PS3 Slim 250GB model
-Wired connection
-20-25 mbps range (according to the PS3's network test)

Test episode: Rock Lee 19

Image quality was good throughout and no instances of crashing but still had a problem with stutters.

Off hand I would say the episode stuttered about 6-8 times.
