Are there any older anime you wish would make another season or do a remake with better graphics?

I would love to see "Urusei Yatsura" redone. Note that I would demand they match or exceed the artistic and animation quality of "Beautiful Dreamer" (the best of the many UY movies.)

I'm also putting in a vote for "Mach Go Go Go" (oh, okay, "Speed Racer")

Just to throw around a few more titles dear to my heart: "Patlabor", "The Kabocha Wine", "Devil Hunter Yohko", "Himiko Den", "Kimagure Orange Road", "Bubblegum Crisis" including all the sequels and spinoffs, "Cat's Eye", "Gall Force" (yes, the entire collection in all its weird disjointed lack of connectivity from one arc to the next, it's part of the charm) and finally, "Sol Bianca", starting with the original, filling the middle by finishing the unresolved story lines, then ending with the sequel series, "Legacy".

There are a number of series I've seen mentioned in this thread for which it is far too soon to remake. Give them another decade or so.

Also, there are a few that I fear would not improve on remake, because the original artwork is so beautiful, despite the inferior technology. I'm talking about series like "Haibane Renmei", "Serial Experiments Lain", "Boogiepop Phantom" or "Now and Then, Here and There."

I thought about throwing in "Sally the Witch", but then it occurred to me that every single magical girl anime since has basically been a remake of "Sally".

3x3 Eyes - Continue, didn't get any where near covering all the manga. It only had six episodes though so might as start over as a remake,

City Hunter - I would like to see it take on it's own story like the Korean drama but still keep more elements from the original.

Vampire Hunter D - It could really use a series to adapt more of the novels. Would be nice in OVA format if it could get a higher budget and 45-60 min long episodes, kind of like Hellsing Ultimate.

Ranma 1/2. making it closer to the manga (i.e. much less filler) and dropping the manga stories that didn't go so well. (Like a lot of shounen manga, it sags in the middle due to the need to keep the series going indefinitely.) Modern animation style might make the early part less "warm", but I think it will make up for it in the long run by avoiding the rapid drop off of animation quality in the later seasons.

Kimi no Iru Machi...storyline was destroyed in the anime.

This for the love of God. Love the manga, but damn did the show suck ass.

I'd also like to see a reanimation of Cowboy Bebop. Just a reanimation. No new music, no new anything, just better graphics (and not the Kai kind of remake. NEW Graphics). Just no second season. As much as I'd like Spike to live on (and maybe get with Faye, yeah i know, I'm that guy), I couldnt watch a second season.

Another vote for 12 Kingdoms! It felt so very unfinished the way they ended it without concluding the Taiki arc. I was checking the wikipedia page constantly for news for many years after I watched it.

Dragonball.

Sure, it's not spectacular in many regards, but it sure was fun.

A new season of Dragon Ball Z, with new characters. Less use of the Dragon Balls, so that death will actually mean something. And not something light GT -.-

I would love to see remakes of the following series and have them stick strictly to the manga.

Fruits Basket: Original anime was great but I would love to see them remake this new graphics etc and actually go through the entire manga.

Black Cat: The anime was okay but the manga was amazing. If they just made a manga adaption anime it would be a very awesome series to watch.

Tsubasa: Just follow the manga and don’t try to cut out all the darkness that was ever present in the manga. It would be such a popular series if they had just done it right.

Would love to see a 2 hour movie of Darker Than Black set after the last episode of the second series that wraps up the entire plot a lot nicer. I kind of feel like the ending to the second series would have been good enough if they had not tried to shove it into one episode.

I'd vote for a remake/update of GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka) for sure.

Ohh yeah, I REALLY want a new season of Maid Sama. While the last episode was a decent end, the manga kept going and I'd LOVE to see the latter part of it adapted into an anime. It ended over 2 years ago and it doesnt seem like there is a good chance there will be another one. I know this thread was for older animes, but I cant think of any that I'd really like to see continue.

I wouldn't mind another Bubblegum Crisis. You can never really go wrong adding canon to that classic sci-fi series, just as long as they preserve the character's personalities. Or maybe another Urusei Yatsura? Perhaps not a whole series, but another OVA or movie would be a nice touch. Just to keep it alive and reintroduce it to the younger generations.
