I agree with you. Being one sided is one of the worst things for someone aiming to have an open mind.

I am an atheist. But I have no problem with religion, just as long as it's kept out of my face, public schools, and government....and not get in the way of scientific discovery. Other than that, everyone is entitled to their faith, or lack thereof.

Yes, I'm a Christian. I believe in God because when I got baptized, I actually felt the power of the Holy Spirit. It knocked me out cold and when I came too, I was completely changed. (And I was the guy who used to mock Christians, make jokes about raping the Virgin Mary, and thought "Falling out in the spirit" is nothing but a scam the preacher sets up with a plant in order to get people's money.) Yet, when I hit rock bottom and came to God, it happened to me. And it wasn't just passing out, I changed. I stopped doing drugs overnight. I've felt the Holy Spirit since then, too. It's one of the primary reasons why I know God is real. I've also seen him transform others far worse than I ever was.

I mean, when you look at all of this, this Universe, you can't tell me it came from a "Big Bang". Especially when the very laws created by man to explain science such as Newton's Law, The Laws of Thermodynamics and The Laws of Motion, invalidate the very idea of a Big Bang Theory. Experiencing what I have, I can't get with the idea that there is no God, especially just because some man thinks so. The Universe is too broad, too vast and too old, for anyone to say: "I know what's out there, and nope, there is definitely no God out there." How in the world could you possibly know? That's my opinion on it.

Born into a Catholic family who have all done the Sacraments of Initiation. When I was born my dad made the decision for me to be dedicated into The Salvation Army and I became a Salvationist. My parents went back to a Catholic Church (they didn't convert) when I was about 9. I felt really left out, because everyone in my family understood and participated in the mass. I got pressured to become Catholic.
I got sent/currently attending a Catholic high school, and I'm forced to participate in their mass and follow their beliefs.

It really bothers me when things like that happen, but I am happy to have religion in my life . I'm not one of those people who shoves it in people faces and have a go at them for not believing but, I can't stand others who shove it in MY face that they don't believe in religion and then complain that those who believe in religion always try to shove it in their face. (If that makes sense )

Personally I am not a religious person. I was never made to go to Church much, and as a child I earnestly hated it. Felt like the most pointless diatribe ever.

That being said, I don't denounce religion itself. It's impossible to prove there's a deity out there, but it's also impossible to prove there isn't; proof rests on the believer, though. Even if there is a god, He feels rather inattentive and neglectful towards His creations. Otherwise why would all the bad and corrupt things that happen in the world be so?

Atheist/Agnostic
I do not believe in God or a god although the possibility that he or they exist is there in my opinion. It is a vague topic and knowing for sure is impossible hence the use of the word "faith" .

This is such a vast topic with so many possibilities and opinions that claiming one to be the one and only is rather arrogant in my opinion. This does not mean that people should not adopt a single school of thought, I am only stating that imposing ones beliefs on others is wrong.

Personally I am not fond on religion, having faith has it's strong points and I encourage any and everyone to believe in what they think is right or what comforts them. Religion is often connected to organisations and groups of people sharing interest in a certain belief, although not all of these have negative objectives if any at all some have hidden agendas and use God or gods for the manipulation of it's followers. I also dislike the idea of a single man at the head of an organisation representing said God.

I hope I have not offended anyone as I was only trying to state my opinion and if you disagree with me and are willing to debate using facts to back up your statements I will be more then happy to listen and possibly changing my mind but definitely learning and expanding my horizons. Anyways, follow your heart and do what you think is right.

I'm a deist, I believe that the simple fact that there is a world here and science to look at it proves there is a creator of some sort on a higher level of understanding, however my belief stops there. I do not believe that "god" or this creator or whatever it is works in miracles or curses. Everything is set in motion to be self sustaining. I do not believe in God, because God would be on a plane of existence so far above us I seriously doubt we would even begin to understand what God really is. God is a made up person that was put into a book of rules made by humans. I believe there to be some sort of creator, but God does not exist. Personal opinion of course enlightenment is relative to the one who is enlightened, and honestly we won't know the answer to the question until it's too late, so shunning a belief is somewhat foolish in my opinion.

Some atheists here are so funny :D

I'm religious.

Having faith in Jesus made my outlook in life more positive.
It's really reassuring to be able to pray to God and feel the weight off my chest at the worst times.
I can tell God all the things I won't be able to tell people and if there seems to be an answer around the corner, I will always remember to thank Him for it!

^^

I won't force it down people's throats though if they don't believe in Him. I also don't like going up to people "Well you're going to Hell because you killed an ant"

...... Unlike some idiots I know who are "Christian"

I am a Pastafarian and ever since I was touched by the Flying Spaghetti Monster's noodly appendages, I have become a more tolerant and open-minded person.

So yes, I am religious for the sake of religion making me a less horrible person. To me, what's important is the effect of religion on me as an individual. I think that each religion has at least some good wisdom to teach. I like to focus on that.

Not religious at all.
I find myself not really believing in a higher power unless I see some definite proof.
When I die and it turns out my beliefs were wrong, oh well. If I was right, oh well.
Won't know until it happens.

What I don't like is someone telling me how wrong my beliefs are however.

I'm personally religious. I'm a Christian, and believe it or not I'm actually at a very young age.
Not trying to boast or try to say I'm better than anyone though, hope you guys won't misunderstand this.

I believe in Jesus Christ, and he's the source of my life. Sure I do make sins here and there; well no one's perfect anyways.
But I am really happy I was born into a Christian and religious family, that applies to my schools and friends too.

Ever since I met Jesus, my life changed and I became a better person than I am. Believe me, I used to steal, trick, and... oh name it and I've done alot. But now for the first time ever, I started to leave my horrible past behind and find my true self. My heart is calm when I'm with Jesus. I felt like I could die without regrets if I follow him.

This is my personal view. PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO MY COMMENT SAYING THAT JESUS DON'T EXIST OR I'M JUST PLAIN IRRATIONAL OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. I am not trying to make a debate and it's better to keep your opinions to yourself. Believe Him or not, it's up to you. And you have no right to change my religious views.

I am religious. I am a Space Butterfly! Many will say that we are a cult but that is false. We are just great fun people who worship the one true god, the great Space Butterfly. May his wings flap eternally and my he bless us with the great space nectar to nourish us. It was not revealed to us until a Terraria episode in which our Prophet Jesse Cox tried to annoy TB and it came to us. His truth was brought to us like the dawning of a new day and our prophet said "Lo let thy eye's open for you have not seen the Butterfly." I am happy that I found the Space Butterfly for his great cocoon will shield the world from harm in our time of need. If there are any other butterflies who read this bless you child of the great Butterfly.
