Christian, but I respect all beliefs. The way I see it, a world this beautiful can't be an accident

That's exactly how God wants you to see the world. There is no such thing as accidents. Everything is meant to be.

i cant say i'm religious. it doesn't seem realistic that a god created all life and such and some who watches over everyone. i also never really got the whole heaven and hell concept.(i mean think about how many people would be their -.-") but the idea of being reborn after death or an afterlife seems a little more realistic. although you cant prove that a god doesn't exist either :\ it just seems unlikely.

I'm an atheist, I don't take anybody's crap about religion. Religion staunches growth, whereas atheism is great, it expands our knowledge and allows questions. However, I'd like to think there's some sort of afterlife, as there are many other dimensions to our universe (11 according to the String Theory), but not necessarily a "god" to rule that, there's no such thing.

Religion is one big fairy tale, people should realize that by now. How do you know if religion wasn't first created as an actually joke, and there were just too many people down the line of history to take it seriously?

I'm an atheist, but I have to say that kind of close-minded thinking is what actually prevents growth, in my opinion. The biggest problem in religion is not about the actual practice, but rather on how they let it affect and play a big role on other parts of their life.

Of all places someone had to start a religious thread on here. lol This was my face. Avoid at all cost!

Math, science, music, and love are my religion. I have various opinions regarding the different beliefs out there but I'll refrain from delving into those. I will however reveal this, my distrust in my fellow human based on my life experiences has caused me to proceed with skepticism and caution when making life choices.

I will not say however that there is no God or all powerful being(s). My reason(or 2) is this. First of all, the closer we travel to the center of the universe the older it gets. Based on evolution technically life may have evolved passed the need of a physical body into an all knowing all seeing consciousness or whatever the imagination can reveal. Hell, then I could get into the multi-verse theory and stack that previous idea on that. Or, I could bring up the various dimensions and how we perceive life within the 3 see-able dimensions let alone all the other ones. And I could ask what is life? Is my physical body life, is the earth life, is our sun life, is the universe life? Am I religious?? My fucking head wants to explode when asked this question...

this is an example of a dumbass thing that happens with me and religious people ALL THE F**KIN' TIME= someone asks me about my religion, (usually christians, because that's all there really is around here) and i say, "oh. i'm atheist. i just think religion is kinda silly." and then the christian says, "dude! but if you don't believe in god, you'll go to hell!" and i say, "how am i going to hell if i don't even believe in religion?" and then they or i usually walk away.

although i do find some religions as interesting stories.

I don't believe either, but I'm not quite as ignorant as you are, and your logic is full of flaws and I fucking guarantee that as a "scientific kind of guy" you know next to fuck all about scienece.

The easy answer to your retarded question of why a person is religious "Because I believe".

The other easy answer to your stupid question on their belief in hell. You don't counteract their argument on hell by saying you don't believe since they state that the non-believers go to hell.

Assume hell does exist and you don't believe in it, you're still fucking going to it, and if I go to hell too, I'll make sure to hunt you down and bitch slap you around for a few million years for your idiocy.

geez man, calm down. i'm just expressing my view on the situation.

I'm a Christian.

Maybe not the best example of one, but I have great pride in my faith.

It teaches me values like trust, and the loving of others as well as those around me.

I know that there are many people who twist religion into excuses for doing terrible, horrible things. Yet that shouldn't reflect on everyone who follows one.

There was a poster who said religion restrains a person from growing. On the contrary, its helped me become a better person then I could have been today. Just because you believe in god, doesn't mean you can't strive for knowledge. Just because you have faith, doesn't mean you are weak. It just means you believe in a greater purpose. Something bigger then yourself. In my opinion, knowing that you're small makes you stronger then a giant.

I personally believe that there is a God, but I don't believe in much else besides that (i.e I feel a lot of the Bible is more metaphor than literal tales). That being said I feel that the existence of God implies that it's an omnipotent presence, and being such how can we ever hope to even grasp what that existence truly is? That being said I don't think it's fair to say that religion isn't true either. There's a lot of crazy things in this universe that are hard to explain (hell, recently there was a giant space cloud discovered made of mostly methyl alcohol).

I believe in being a good person because that's who I am. I feel it's superficial for someone to have to go through a thought process of "if I do this good deed, I'm one step closer to 'x reward.'" I know it's not like that for a lot of people, it's just a personal feeling.

he covers religion well... if you are....., well he will offend the hell out of you but funny as hell...

religion is a fairy tale...its morals wrapped up in a story and sold to people based on faith to give people a reason to live and a reason to die if need be. It suits people who are desperate for a meaning to life. IMO, your life shouldn't be tied to some faith in make believe things live it, relish it, you only get one. And as the video says just try not to be a prick.
