I am a proud Christian. I respect the views of others and won't, quote on quote, "force it down your throats". Who says religion doesn't have questions? Most of the Christians I know have their own questions and all they needed to do was talk to somebody and read some scriptures. I'm also religious because Jesus saved me and forgave my mistakes. I could still be a better Christian and I try to improve my praying habits.

Did Jesus saved you and forgave your mistakes in a real world ? If not where did Jesus did that to you?

No. I am not religious. Prove it and I'll believe it.

I'm 21 now, have been an atheist for a few years and was agnostic before that. I was raised in a christian family and just saw too many flaws in a religion that is described as "perfect". How can an all-knowing god display petty, imperfect human emotions?

In our infinitely huge, endless universe where more life than just our own has to have happened, you really think there's some magical entity out there, making sure we aren't masturbating?

I'm an atheist, I don't take anybody's crap about religion. Religion staunches growth, whereas atheism is great, it expands our knowledge and allows questions. However, I'd like to think there's some sort of afterlife, as there are many other dimensions to our universe (11 according to the String Theory), but not necessarily a "god" to rule that, there's no such thing.

Religion is one big fairy tale, people should realize that by now. How do you know if religion wasn't first created as an actually joke, and there were just too many people down the line of history to take it seriously?

I pretty much agree with you.
However i do believe that one should think anything that is not proven to be wrong a possibility.
Just denying a possibility without any proof is not helpful for growth and a person not able to see all is also limited in the questions he can ask and therefore in the knowledge that can be gained.

Religion was created to control the masses. It's simply a way to turn people into obedient slaves. You only get one life and there's nothing after death.

*Laughs* While I wouldn't have phrased it the way you did, you pretty much summed up the line of thinking that caused me to leave Christianity. I was pretty religious as a young teenager, but the more I studied the bible and the world, the less Christianity made sense to me. Taking a history of religion course in college wiped away any last shreds of being religious as I studied different religions, the similarities some of them shared, and the differences.

However, I truly consider myself an agnostic and not an atheist as I don't know if there is something more than this physical world. I am certain that there is not an anthropomorphized god that sits in judgement as Christianity, Islam, and some other major religions would have us believe.

I think science and religion walk hand in hand. We know how the human body works and got the same organs and shit...
How come we all differ from each other? I think its the "soul" part.

The body is a vehicle which is driven by the soul. You can't see but feel it.

I was raised as a Jew, but I'm Atheist because as a Jew you're supposed to take everything in the Torah (5 books, Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy) as the basis of the entire religion, yet those books say the following (All in the spoiler, note that this is only the Torah...I'm not even mentioning the Haftarah, Talmud, or any other Judaic writings or oral teachings taken in high-regard right now).

Furthermore:

Seems well-cited enough and throws Judaism out the door.

I thus haven't bothered with Christianity or Islam as they're both based on a broken religion (along with other abrahamic religions). Plus there's blood and hate on both of their hands in some sects (see Muslim stoning today and the Westboro Baptist Church, ewwww).

Furthermore, I haven't felt the need to find another religion. I am currently content with being atheist given a lack of attachment to any other religion (they all think they're right anyway, so who is actually correct lol? imo it's more mature to just say "I don't know" (which is the true definition of atheism, not what society considers atheism in the USA for some strange reason, which actually refers to nontheism)), but I am open to whatever comes along in my journey through life.
