Microsoft say this is the future, and I'm sure Google (Android) agree...
...but not if Apple have anything to say about it. http://rootzwiki.com/news/_/articles/apples-latest-patents-could-spell-doom-for-android-r977 |

Apple can just burn to the ground already. They just want Android to fall so people have to RESORT to buying their overpriced garbage.

That type of future will not happen. A better future will occur. A future that is based on cooperation and with no money will happen. Don't listen to the mainstream bullshit of the future.

I can already control reality with my mind, banning me is pointless.

Don't listen to the mainstream bullshit of the future. I don't think the people of the world could let such a world exist. For better or worse, there is just too much passion on this planet for everyone to exist peacefully. As long as there are those willing to fight for their beliefs, there will be those who don't agree with those beliefs who are willing to fight back. |

I can't imagine that happening so quickly. I don't want anything to change, where I live. Sure, change is good, but, too much of anything isn't good...

I think this future for one sucks. For so many reasons, so great we see less of our kids and less of other people because why talk in real life or even leave your home when we can accomplish it all from our couch. Yep very great.

Don't listen to the mainstream bullshit of the future. A future with no money? A future that works on cooperation, hahahah that's the largest load of BS I think I've read on this forum. Dream on, dream on. I can for see this future happening LONG before yours ever does. |

Microsoft has no creativity. Not saying the world wont look like this by then, but Microsoft surely wont be the company to bring us to it.

Some of the stuff in the video already exists, the smart meters for one (which are being rolled out nationwide in the UK) so it's not a giant leap to have the information (which is available from the smart meters) put into a display.
MS haven't shown anything that is seriously impossible within the next 8 years. 8 years ago the top of the line CPU was an Intel Pentium 4 (single core) on a 90nm fab with 1Mb cache (running at 3.8Ghz on an 800Mhz FSB). Today the top of the line CPU's are down to 22nm fab's with 15Mb cache and 6 cores with a built in video card. If you go back 16 years we're talking about the original Pentiums, and not long before that 486's. And that's not even getting started on the processing power of a video card from NVidia which probably pumps out more raw data than a 16 year old super computer. What MS has shown is most likely what they are currently working towards with a time frame of 8 years, 8 years in computing terms is a pretty long time, 8 years ago we were all using Windows XP, now we're using Windows 7 (x64, naturally) and probably going to skip Windows 8, mobile phones were not generally touch screens, the tablet form factor (which Bill Gates predicted) was a niche market. All in all, I can see some of that happening sooner than 8 years. /edit @ above - have you seen the new Microsoft Surface form factor PC/Tablet/Laptop/Thing? It destroys the competition in what it offers, no current device on the market is anywhere near as creative as the MS Surface and you say MS has no creativity? Put simply, the companies that make Windows PC's and Tablets want MS to *not* produce it because they can't compete, it's just so good. |

I think it's possible at the rate we're progressing in! Maybe not quite that up to par with all the ideas they've shown by 2019 but with things like that mouse pad, definitely possible! I'm so excited.

That was actually attempted by Nikola Tesla and he succeeded in doing so too. The main problems with it was that it was extremely loud (the transmitter was basically a giant Tesla Coil), very inefficient and you have to place a generator every few miles or so. Not to mention the hazards of electrifying the surrounding atmosphere. |
