Embarrassing Movie Moments with Parents
Posted 8/12/12 , edited 8/12/12
Like the title says; ever had a cringe worthy, moment of mortification while watching a movie with good ole' mom and pop? (Or some other adult)?

For example, my friend told me she and her dad watched Basic Instinct together one time. A girl should NEVER have to see another woman's full frontal private parts onscreen with her dad. Ever.

I had a moment when my mom and I watched Bridesmaids (which we seriously hated) together. Needless to say, the opening scene in the movie made us unable to look each other in the eye for a while after that.

So grab the popcorn and spill.

I watched Interview With A Vampire with my Mom and Step Dad. There wasn't that much nudity. But it was still pretty awkward.

I shouldn't have watched "Scary Movie" with my parents...the moment in the park where he's force-feeding his gf a hot dog was just too awkward to bear.

I have long since made it a rule to never watch a movie for the first time with my parents.

being the mom of four boys I introduced horror and Scifi to them and dicussed how they made a man;s head look like it got squissed. But I never let them watch sex. That was something they were to experiance when the were adults.

However one of my sons who got me into watching anime came home with La Blue Girl video. Ya know it?

We weren't rally watching together but here's the story anyway.

I lived with my grandmother for many years and she has two TVs, one upstairs and one downstairs. I was watching the one upstairs and decided to go down to get an apple from the kitchen, to do so I have to pass by my grandmother watching, and I find her watching porn.
I just grabbed my apple and walked back upstairs awkwardly...

got my family to watch monty python and the holy grail. i was the only one laughing. i kept getting evil glares from my family whenever i smiled, much less laughed. dad said it was the dumbest movie he's ever seen.

younger brother liked it 2 years later. first time i started seeing myself as weird.

as fate would have it, my parents seem to emerge during the most explicitly sexual or violent scene.. every time.

so yeah.. not even phased anymore.

My parents always told us that if we were too embarrassed to watch something with them then we shouldn't watch it, so most in my family got over it real quick, even if it was for the sole purpose of being able to watch r rated content

Dude. I feel your pain. My mum tends to do that as well. It's like her "mom senses" tingle or something D:

I was going to watch Black Swan with someone from my family. I'm glad I eventually decided to watch it by myself...

Haha totally read the topic wrong...erm.. let's see..I forgot the title of the movie, it was a movie from brazil. Of course, eventually a scene came up with the two lovers making love in the rain..I was in my early teens and had the only awkward feeling as my parents watched the same scene...never again lol
