Writer Moon Hee-jeong and producer Lee Jae-dong are coming back with "Missing You".

"Arang and the Magistrate" sequel drama "Missing You" is almost prepared to start making.

"Missing You" is a traditional mellow drama about a man and a woman who live with the heartache of their first love when they were fifteen years old.

This drama is of particular interest because it's a collaboration by writer Moon Hee-jeong who's responsible for the tears spilled from watching the dramas, "Last Scandal", "Can You Hear my Heart", "Smile, Love" and others and producer Lee Jae-dong responsible for the emotional creation of "Sweet Buns" and "Thank You".

Officials hope this collaboration between Moon and Lee who have communicated with the viewers can leave a strong impression in the business with his project. Although it is a traditionally mellow drama, it is expected that Moon and Lee will create something of their own in their own colors.

The most popular actor and actresses are being searched for right now for the man roles. Casting should be done in the near future and the drama should start shooting in September.

Son Ye Jin turns down casting offer for ‘I Miss You’

It was reported earlier that actress Son Ye Jin was being considered for one of the lead roles in MBC’s new drama ‘I Miss You‘. However, it seems the drama will have to look elsewhere for her agency revealed on the 20th that the actress will be busy with filming her movie until mid September, and thus will not be able to handle a drama as well.

The role that Son Ye Jin was offered was the lead role of Lee Soo Yeon, a fashion designer who falls in love with a man named Han Jung Woo.

As mentioned previoulsy, the male lead of Han Jung Woo was offered to JYJ‘s Yoochun, and he has yet to confirm whether he will be accepting the offer or not.

‘I Miss You’ will air its first episode in October after the conclusion of ‘Arang and the Magistrate‘.

I Miss You in talks to cast Chun Jung-myung

This drama sure seems to be taking its time casting, isn’t it? At least now we’ve got a new name in the mix for melodrama series I Miss You, with Chun Jung-myung up for a leading role—although casting is, as always, not yet decided. According to his people, Chun has received the offer and is currently considering it; he reportedly likes the project so “there is a good chance” he will take it.

The show initially announced that it was courting Yoochun as its leading man a little while back, but all this while we haven’t had any confirmation. Just a series of “He’s still considering” statements from his side. Don’t worry, though, Chun’s not replacing him—he’d be joining him, if Yoochun does end up taking the role. (Who else thinks they’d make great brothers, purely based on looks? They’ve both got a serious mein that totally melts away when they smile, and I could see Yoochun being a cute younger bro.)

The show also courted Sohn Ye-jin, but she has already declined the role and the female lead remains uncast. Currently the only people who are fixed are youngsters Yeo Jin-gu and Kim So-hyun (in a Moon/Sun reunion), who should be great playing the younger counterparts to the main two. They’ll be each other’s first loves, experience some sort of pain/trauma/separation, then grow up bearing the scars of that heartache. The love story is described as a “hide and seek” of missed opportunities, which could be really sweet. But also angsty. Really, really angsty.

If both men sign on, I find it interesting that Chun Jung-myung is up to play the opposition. Not that it’s strange he’d play a bad guy, but I wouldn’t have thought he’d take anything but main hero roles at this stage in his career. I suppose the second lead may be as prominent as the hero, as in shows like Equator Man. But still, it feels odd to me.

Up until a year ago, I’d have put my bettin’ money that Chun would be more hero material than Yoochun, but Yoochun’s experienced a rapid rise to top stardom (as an actor, I mean; he already had it as an idol), so I suppose this makes sense. To be honest I prefer it this way, ’cause it’s sadly been ages since I’ve loved Chun in a drama (What’s Up Fox, six years ago); after Cinderella’s Sister and Man of Honor, my love is flagging. Whereas Yoochun was hilarious and adorable in Rooftop Prince, in a nicely refreshing way.

Chun’s (potential) character is set up as a rival to Yoochun from the start—from before the start, even, if you consider that the antagonism dates back to their parents’ generation. So, like Hate Rain then?

I Miss You comes from the writer of Can You Hear My Heart and Thank You, and will be taking over the Wednesday-Thursday timeslot from Arang and the Magistrate come November.

Yoon Eun Hye to Play Park Yoo Chun’s Heartbreaking First Love in “I Miss You”

After almost a year and a half away, Yoon Eun Hye will make her comeback to the small screen with new MBC series “I Miss You,” where she will star opposite of Park Yoo Chun (JYJ). In the upcoming drama, she will take on the role of Lee Soo Yeon, the first love of Park Yoo Chun’s charter Han Jung Woo. They fell in love at the tender age of fifteen but had their love snatched away from them. They continue to live their lives, keeping their broken hearts hidden from the world. ”I Miss You” is described as a traditional melodrama about the two as they undergo a hide-and-seek-like-love.

A representative of the production team stated, “Yoon Eun Hye is an actress who’s been recognized for her craft through various works. While she appears bright and driven on the outside, Lee Soo Hyun carries a deep pain within. We felt Yoon Eun Hye would be the best actress to portray her.” He continued, “We hope many people are excited to see Yoon Eun Hye’s transformation into a woman in ‘I Miss You.’”

“I Miss You” will replace “Arang and the Magistrate” on MBC early next month.

The teaser looks really good to me. I like it (:
Or maybe it's because Yeo Jin Gu is in it and I love that guy to small bits.
He's such an amazing actor at such a young age! (:
He can act really good and portray + convey many emotions in such a beautiful way.
Since Yoo Seung Ho has been cast in this too, I'm thinking of watching the first few episodes.

I was at first going to watch the portion with the little kids only (like in The Moon Embracing the Sun)
But I'm planning on watching the whole drama. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint; looks pretty good to me (:

Yoo Seung Ho Rivals Yoochun for Yoon Eun Hye’s Love in “Missing You”

Actor Yoo Seung Ho has officially inked the deal and will star in MBC’s new Wed/Thurs drama “Missing You.” He will take on the role of cold-hearted Kang Hyung Joon, one of the leading characters in the drama alongside Yoochun (Han Jung Woo) and Yoon Eun Hye (Lee Soo Yeon).

Like many typical dramas, Yoo Seung Ho’s family and Yoochun’s have been rivals and it will carry over to their generation. The two leading males will become rivals for Yoon Eun Hye’s love. Yoo Seung Ho is a man of vengeance who hides behind his calm and gentle smile.

A producer commented, “Yoo Seung Ho has shown remarkable growth as an actor and has received much praise and acceptance from the public. He’s perfect for the role of Kang Hyung Joon who hides his cold demeanor behind a gentle appearance.”

It will air in November following the end of “Arang and the Magistrate” featuring Shin Min Ah and Lee Jun Ki.
