Best advice.

1. Go for a walk/bike ride/car ride as far as you're comfortable to go and note the location.
2. Go on google maps and draw a line from your home to that location.
3. make a circle and apply to EVERY place within that circle.
4. Get job

I did that when I was younger, cept with a bicycle and worked a horrid job to save for a car to work my dream job at a ski resort growing up.

It really is like a blast, and I can't believe how much I've achieved in doing this. However, It's sometimes so completely stressful that I debate just quitting (I have before and took a year off) and just doing nothing. I still maintain a dayjob because I am not that good/famous/important in the music scene, and I've played literally a MILLION empty shows to only family/friends. I wouldn't trade it for anything though, it's the one thing that keeps me going, outside of my fiance. However, as of late I've just wanted to play video games and watch anime vs. practicing and worrying about my weekly events. The DJ scene is rough too, it's literally like a constant battle of nice and nasty between artists sometimes, especially local artists. I'm actually writing out a full LN series regarding futuristic DJ battles and stuff based on experiences that I've had and whatnot. Hopefully I can get it translated and released or something overseas. That would be amazing.

It's nice that you actually go on tours and stuff though, actually making efforts. I always hate when you go on Youtube or something and you see these comments on popular DJs pages with people begging to have people check them out because "they're new to the scene and they need views to achieve their dream". It's like people are less inclined to do any actual work outside and expect to be a Youtube sensation.

The main problem is that people think pressing the "sync" button= DJing. (it auto syncs two songs beats so they are "mixed")looking cool, and talking big does not make you a DJ. If you can't perform without a computer, you should either take the time to learn, or get out. I personally use a computer to DJ, but I learned back on turntables and still use turntables or CDJ's regularly (CD turntables!)

Everyone wants to be the DJ because they think it's such a glamorous and flashy thing, it is and it isn't. I love my hobby/job and I've fought tooth and nail to get where I am without sounding like a massive egotistical wank, or stepping on other people's feet. It was very hard, but I love it.

Like I said, writing a LN series based on my experiences, maybe I'll release it here!
