I find myself always feeling tired regardless of my sleeping habits, all throughout high school I would be falling asleep in class which made it impossible to do anything in school. Even now I am tired at all times and I'm not even in school.
Does anyone else have this issue? I always wondered if it had to do with the fact that I don't drink any water at all ever even if there's a fire! I guess for some personal background information I was very active up until basically puberty I stopped skateboarding and playing sports, I just transitioned into video games all day everyday. Also I'm 5'11 and 135 lbs. I've been that weight since I was 13... Question: Do you think if I exercised on a daily basis that I would start to feel more awake because I don't exert any energy at all, I always thought that if I don't exert energy it goes over 100% and drops into the negatives or something like that :/ |

If you don't exercise a lot or move you'll feel lazy and tired a lot.. So yes exercise more :] it keeps you awake(unless you did a brutal work out =/ then good night!
). Tips I learnt is to not slouch and hands off your face. Also try changing your diet. Maybe you're not eating the right foods to provide the good energy , for you to keep awake. For me .-. I just need sleep. Having 7hours and less doesn't do any good =/ *sigh*. |

I have insomnia, I often feel active at night. My body is tired and drained, but my brain wants to do something. I often day dream in my bed, rather than sleep. Not in the literal sense, because obviously its not day time at night... xD

You should go see your primary care doctor to make sure. There could be so many potential reasons for you to have low energy.
If you don't drink enough water, you will feel pretty shitty throughout the day, so that's a good place to start. People with sleep apnea, no matter how many hours they sleep, tend to wake up tired and unrested and can develop some pretty serious health problems. Exercising is a pretty good way to make yourself feel better (although initially you'll hate yourself and feel crappy). You'll eat better, sleep better, feel better. But yeah, you should get yourself checked. |

To not slouch and to not put my hands of my face would literally be impossible I would have to duct tape body and limbs O.O

Could be diet, lack of exercise or low blood sugar. Either way it's not about sleep, necessarily. You could also be depressed. If it's recent depression a lot of people suddenly sleep all the time.

Finally got off my lazy ass and picked up the weights again.

Im the same way, i get sleepy easily.
More so actually when I was younger and out of shape. Not saying that is the problem but due to being out of shape and honestly having a lower metabolism I didn't have the energy to get through the day. Once I got active my whole entire life changed. |

But yeah, you should get yourself checked. I have seen my family doctor he basically told me that I should walk a lot and eat properly. But walking is like completely and utterly boring to me I cannot do it. Despite being the most inactive person out of all my friends I'm underweight so I don't know what to do. |

it could be alot of things. Stress, obesity, dehydration, sheer laziness...
i try to be as strong as my favorite anime characters so that gives me motivation to work out everyday. har |

Drawing on my fine command of the English language, I said nothing.

Ahh, yeah it's very difficult to motivate yourself to exercise if it's something you find boring. For this reason a lot of people avoid running or going to the gym because it's just not enough to hold their interest. Have you considered swimming? This sounds childish but...I still get a kick out of just being in water, like when I was a kid. Being able to play with water, and feel almost weightless, gliding around, etc. Or you can do canoeing and kayaking, go to a local ballcourt and play basketball, etc. or tennis. There's a lot of physical activities that could hold your interest. Who knows? You might like martial arts, or dancing. |

Actually I do enjoy swimming I always have, I can hold my breath for 2 1/2 minutes. I used to just dive in pools and hold my breath underwater sometimes for fun our just swim the full way across underwater. It's just that my town is very small and my friends play games all day just like I do. |

I love games just like the next guy, but thinking big picture I know I won't be young forever. If I want to maintain a productive lifestyle later on and worry less about all different kinds of physical ailments cropping up, then I need to work out, eat healthy, and treat my body well. 2 1/2 minutes underwater is no joke, that shows that you have some strong healthy lungs with good oxygen capacity. Just go from there. Try to get a membership to a pool. Games can be very addicting and fun, but if you play them all day they kind of get kind of "meh." If you break up your monotony with a different activity, it will feel much more rewarding and fun when you play your games. |
