Combative women are fun, until you run out of energy and they run you into the ground.

I had an ex who when I met her, the first thing she said to me was "What the hell do you want you creepy son of a bitch?!"

She sat across the room from me, and I barely even recognized her when she stopped me in the hall, but she was convinced that I had been eye-raping her from across the room every day for a month. We were at odds right off the bat. I remember trying to respond to her but I stumbled over what I wanted to say and she just started ripping me to pieces. I sort of squeaked out "I need to get to class!" and ran off.

In some sick twist of fate, she was in the sorority aligned with the one I was trying to pledge to, but she was in the senior leadership and was part of a group of girls that came in and *tested* us in the 2nd week of pledge initiations. It wasn't fun, it mostly involved duct tape and freshmen dudes screaming like someone had just ripped a lot of their leg hair off.... because that's what happened.... I still ponder the connection between pain and human bonding rituals and why it actually does seem to have a positive effect despite the trauma.... meh, psychology.... bah...

Anyway, after she messed with me, duct tape style, I was determined to see her and I had to literally bribe one of her greek sisters with "party favors" to be allowed in their house. It was really awkward, I didn't have her number, and I just ran in there thinking I knew what I was doing until I got there. So, basically I just showed up in her room and she stared at me wide-eyed for the longest time. The she got up stormed across the room grabbed me by the face and kissed me and we sort of just attacked each other right there.

I originally thought of her as wild, for the first couple months, but then we got a place together off campus and after living with her for a week I found out she was batshit insane. She would get drunk and scratch my face and one time I had to punch her in the stomach to get her off me. She used to bite me and stuff. She tore a big chunk of my hair out and elbowed me in the face hard enough to fracture my nose. I woke up from a nap while she was trying to tie me up with a jump rope and had to wrestle her for control of it. I'm not going into the rest, but I also failed to stop her a few times...

That was somewhat typical of our weekends. She would get drunk and then completely spaz. I got chased around the kitchen once when she pulled out a riding crop and started whacking me with it. Oh my god those things leave welts. There was one saturday night where I was woken up at 3am by the cold cold feel of metal on the inside of my thigh. I jumped up and she had a big pair of scissors. She laughed hysterically at me, I don't know if she laughed because she scared me half to death, or because she was totally bonkers, but I freaked out and kicked her off the bed, grabbed them away from her and then locked her in the bathroom....

Probably the only thing that kept that relationship from escalating to murder, was that she went home for winter break and had a total nervous breakdown in front of her whole family and they put her in the hospital so she had to drop out of school. She used to tell me that she would kill herself if I left her and I knew she meant it. I have to say, it was horrible in some ways, but, I've never been loved with such ferocious intensity before, or since. Scary way of proving the colossal size of your love, but, if life is nothing but a series of subjective experiences, it's possible those were my best. Of course, if she had cut my balls off I doubt I'd still be able to romanticize what amounted to a hostage situation. xD

i like girls that are hard to get lol, but in real life a girl can't be tsundere, tsundere in anime = hot chick that is hard to get and actually a nice person, tsundere in real life = girl with mental illness or abuse at a young age

Can we take a moment to appreciate Midorima's tsundere-ness. Takao does a good job taming him.

For the same reason that everyone wants to go out with yanderes. Everyone does want to go out with yanderes, right?

no i think i've known people. obviously no one is tsundere 24/7, same thing in anime. they only open up to certain people and thats when they are nice.

Because it's like a puzzle that you're compelled to solve (if you like them).

The key to a good Tsundere is finding a healthy balance between the tsun tsun and the dere dere.

Too cold, and you're just dealing with a just plain bad-attitude possessing character.
Too warm, and you're dealing with an aggressively clingy and heedlessly incessant pest type character.

So, she needs to be cold, but also human...
meaning that not all injuries incurred will be ignored by her, even those she delivers.
Too violent in her reproaches and she becomes the dreaded yandere character, continued abuse is psychotic in nature.

I'll be marrying a Tsundere type in 2014, but even when she's cold, she's very sarcastic, so I don't take it too seriously.
I'd have to say that her dry humor and stubbornness is what makes me want to reach the dere dere even more. [chuckles]

Comments regarding the independent nature of Tsundere characters are very true as well.
Being driven is an attractive quality.

*Puts medal around neck*
*Wipes tear*
*Gives thumbs up while national anthem plays in the background*

I'm grateful to her, she taught me that I should absolutely never get married, and never trust someone just because they love me.... Lead me to having a vasectomy that year. Definitely preserved my freedom and probably saved my career, I've had so many girlfriends sabotage their birth control over the last 15yrs.... Ugh. I literally don't have any friends left who don't have any accidental kids (THEY HATE IT SO MUCH!!). Poor suckers. Like women can't feel it when they're ovulating... rofl
