I have seen it all, and its a great anime, one of my favs

what i meant to say is that it takes some time for the fights to happen, bcus they are giving info about other characters, which takes some time

btw, Lucchini FTW

Yeah I thought about it, and you're right, it takes a lot of times to get things started.
But it's not that bad that they do that, except for the times they're really stretching it out

DBZ lacks cat girls. Bulma got old and Chi Chi was never all that cute even in DB.

Where's da cuties at DBZ?

No one knows.

It was the first big action anime I watched as a kid and I thought it was really mature and dark. Overall the series isn't horrible and some of the fights are great. I think it's a lot of nastalga. I remember as a kid seeing a few episodes of the super mario brothers super show and legend of zelda so when I saw them as an adult I bought the DVDs. After watching them I saw how kiddy they were and they are not a kid's show that truly stacks up as an adult.

I still do love DBZ and always will but I hope the series gets an overall. New animation, better fight scenes and faster action. Kai was a step forward but not enough to make me want to rebuy the whole series again and neither was the high definetion release. I'm not somebody who constantly buys a new verison of something that I own already just because there is a new edition.

Overall DBZ is a classic despite some flaws. It's like star trek or inspector gadget.

Lets puts this in a different perspective:

Title: why do people like haruhi

Just as it says. I mean I have seen it.

But i mean come on its not good.

It takes like forever for something to happen and all the dialogue is really lame. all it is is people yelling and then random stuff flashing around the screen. if you don't believe me try to go back and watch the entire haruhi series.

I'm not saying that you shouldn't watch it. im just wondering what you see in it that is so good. In fact some of my friends love haruhi. (not very true)

+ Please dont post things like "STFU haruhi CANS BLOWS UP DE UNIVERSE!!!!!"

++ i have seen haruhi.

I'm sure you can tell I'm bashing haruhi its an anime done bad.

I fail to see the point in your comment. I put this post up because I was wondering why people actually like DBZ. if they are seeing something i'm not.

Your comment is just copying my comment, for what reason?

To get across the point that you didn't like Haruhi?

Because you wanted to sound smart?

Because you wanted to post something but didn't know what to say?

Or is it because you wanted to prove that each person has there own opinion on the matter?

I would be interested to hear your reason for being such a douch bag.

Actually let me tell you a quick story before I reply to your post.

I once sent an e-mail asking a question, and the reply I received back was: Yes.

End of true story, so my reply to you is:

No.

"sometime when I do something stupid and somebody challenges me on it I like spouting out random crap" POTATO!!!

Stop trolling your own thread, it's embarrassing some people are just not satisfied with a simple answer.

I am not like TheAncientOne (bless his 51 year old soul) that will write you an essay telling you the routes and fundamentals of what 1 + 1 equals. If you're going to ask simple question(s) I will give you simple answers.

I loved DBZ back when I first watched it. Its appeals more to the younger kids I think. Lots of mindless fighting is what they like. I liked it too when I was youger cause even if it took them forever to get going and finish off each other, the anticipation of something awesome is going to happen next or this guy got his ass kicked by this dude a few episodes ago but now he is back even stronger than before and hes going to woop his ass now! lol that excited me.

I loved Dragonball Z when I was a kid and I still watch a couple clips on youtube.

I think the majority of why people like it was because we grew up watching it and it was literally THE SHIT to watch.

Now if we use whatever our criteria for what makes an anime good, Im pretty sure we would all realize DBZ wouldnt match quite up to par with it.

But come on now, its freaking Dragonball Z

Anyways, time to look up the Gohan vs Cell fight. Nostalgia

I'm not that big of a fan of DBZ past the Frieza saga. Personally, I think the Frieza fight should have been significantly shorter. Still, in my mind this was the best part of DBZ outside of the ridiculous Saiyaman filler arc where Gohan becomes a superhero. DBZ from beginning through the Frieza arc is pretty solid. I have tried DBZ Kai, which is an improvement in someways and seriously flawed in others. Mainly, Gohan's training suffers the most from the cuts made in Kai. That when Gohan's new uniform is shown approaching the Saiyan showdown, there's zero explanation. One scene he's in orange, the next it's the Picolo style training gear. It had more of an impact in the original DBZ. As well as knowing Gohan in the original DBZ had a choice to go home, and instead chose to train with Picolo. I haven't watched past the Saiyan saga in Kai yet.

The Cell saga feels too long. And the Buu saga, is way too long. Annoyingly long. Personally, I think Dragonball is better then the later incarnations. Mainly because Dragonball felt more like an ongoing adventure. DBZ captures Dragonballs essence early on into the Frieza saga. Then the Frieza fight starts, it kinda sets the tone for the series that carries on through out. Insanely long fights that should only really last two episodes per form really. Then, needless episode padding with the reactions from the slowly being forgotten about support characters from Dragonball reacting to the fight on earth. Who were all at one time great support characters in Dragonball.

Still, I don't hate DBZ. But I don't really care much for stuff after the Frieza saga. The later super saiyan and fusion forms seem like filler fluff in place of what the show really needed. More diversity in techniques and shorter battles. I mean, the number one reason why I liked the Kao-kan attack is because it was a power up and it had repercussions when pushing the body too far. The Super Saiyan forms have no repercussions on the user. Also the few new techniques made didn't seem that radically different from existing ones. Aside from a few. Like Instant Transmission, Halo, and Suicide Ghosts. It'd mean more to me if every form had new abilities to add.

The meaning of the colors of the beams quickly became pointless too. I thought they meant something in the Frieza saga. Yellow/Gold is a normal beam. Galga gun was purple. So I thought that suggested a highly concentrated beam. Then Frieza uses a red one. A stronger beam. At least, that's what I believed. Then that logic is thrown out the window. It means less and less as the series continues.

The show had a lot of potential. Destructo disk, Special beam cannon, and solar flare are techniques that technically made it possible for even the weakest characters to stand a chance against highly powered enemies. It might have been interesting to see an underdog like Krillin take down someone powerful that even Goku or Vegeta couldn't defeat. With just a few simple techniques and his destructo disk to finish the job. Instead, the show became too much about power levels and strength. That's what I grew to dislike most about DBZ. Especially after the Frieza saga.

But I'm really digging DBZ Abridged. It's a well done parody.

DBZ is DBZ !
I always heard that DBZ is the worst from all DB.
But for me it is anime which isn't only about fight. It's anime which will let u know more about yourself ^^
DBZ or GT is about friends family about something what u should protect xD
It is not anime for all ppl I think ^^ First you need to be a part of DB.
I watched it when I was a kid 6 years old xD Now I'm 20 and still re-watch it !
Since it is like family for me hahah All characters are great ! The fights are interesting ! and funny xD
It is a long anime Son Goku have family later his son has family. Maybe bacause of it it's hard for ppl to like it xD
but DBZ is so nice!

Simply because it is what it is? A cheesy but fun action show? It's not great, no, but it's still fun to watch.

Did you just want to complain? I wont get in your way that the origional freeza saga had a ton of cheesy corny filling, on top of long winded epic battles.... you do know you watched two powers that never get to test the powers they aquired? how could I just unleash it all at once, I totoally understand frieza. why did they make goku look so weak when he was so much stronger? this is Interpretation.

You grow with your fav hero and cheer for his epicness.. So how would cell be any different. and you have the gall to complain about the buu saga? one of the most dominate bad guys in exsistance? Im srsly losing motivation to even post this at this point. its like your trying your best to find everything wrong with dbz. So what did you like? I have yet to see a more epic tale of valor, and heroism. I dont wanna be your enemie but I wont agree with your logic ..
