I always am really sad and depressed when i finish a series no matter what, but i swear Clannad like scarred me, ughhh so depressing.

Grave of the Fireflies hands down.
One time I was watching it at my inlaws house with my mother in law in the room, and at first she was doing her own thing on the computer or whatever. I didn't expect her to watch at all, his family typically doesn't even watch live action movies with subtitles. But at the end sure enough I turn around and she's crying. An anime that can make non anime fans cry is really sad.

I tend to stay far away from the sad/depressing animes, but Gintama surprised me/caught me off guard a couple times.

Grave of the Fireflies. I also saw it with my mother in law. My mother in law was in the living room minding her own business,
next thing I know she's watching with me and at the end we are both crying.
I had actually purchased the DVD that day. That was about 10 years ago, saw it that one time and I've never got around to see it again because I know I'm going to cry. I still have it in my DVD collection but I don't dare watch it

I almost pride myself on the fact that I don't get emotional over movies or tv shows or what not. I can sympathize or empathize with characters, but I very rarely cry or whatever over what might be going on.
That said, Clannad has been the only show/movie in the past year that I've watched that I actually had to fight back tears for. The story is pain-stakingly heart-touching, and I both hated it and loved it for that.

Has anyone watched H2O: foot prints in the sand? thats a sad one i cried while i watched on had to go till the end. It broke my heart watching that anime.

There are two one-shots that really made me tear up. One is Kowarekake no Orgel. You have to watch all the way through the ending credits to the very last, to wring out every last drop.
I can't think of the name of the other OVA, with the android boy implanted with the memories of a dead child, and a girl who was dying of an illness that stole her memories from her little by little...
