If the average cup size of the females in an anime is a size D or above, it's going to be terrible.
Think about all the great anime you've seen. How many had a lot of ladies with...voluptuous curves?

Now the average size of some anime yes but Sekirei? Great fighting series IMO but there are some that have definitely terrible due to too much cleavage. But yes some really great anime have been on the smaller side......well alot actually lol so I will partially by into your theory if thats posible

Revy from Black Lagoon had some perfect boobs.
Also faye from Cowboy Bebop ... maybe not the biggest but the outfit alone makes them seem huge.
Also, what anime you think is terrible and what I think is terrible will probably be vastly different.
Although I will say after thinking of anime in my head the only anime that I really like with big boobs is Naruto and I know a lot of people hate that series.
Overall though my favorite anime don't have DD breasts so there may be something to this .... weird.

I think the OP is talking more so of the average bust size of all the girls in a series but yes Yoko is very veluptuous ......reminds me of Rin from CG and R2....the bunny suit in season 1

I don't particularly like the theory hence it is a theory, but the words ecchi harem should be inserted before the anime.

this would of been a better reason
macross frontier had a lovely lady and her breasts weren't overly disproportionate
also infinite stratos was an ecchi harem anime but the sizes weren't that bad so... this theory needs to be refined, we need more brain power to come up with a good structure for this theory. |

Yeah I agree there is something to this BUT what happens if someone thinks a lot of ecchi anime are really good? There would be the problem. I guess if there are a LOT of huge breasted women I would be more like the fry meme ... just not sure if I could watch seriously.

A number of Loli anime can disprove this theory. Personally, I think Chitose Get You!! and Recorder to Randoseru are pretty bad.
