People are naming shows that have some females in an anime is a size D or above, but didn't the OP say AVERAGE cup size...? And yeah that's pretty obvious lol

How about if the average cup size of the females in an anime is size D or above, it's probably going to be ecchi, and the characters aren't really going to be all that deep? I know this is a generalization, of course, but it's a little closer than OPs, I think.

But I'll play along. Again. Freezing has a cast that probably averages D or above. And it isn't a bad anime. It isn't great either but it certainly doesn't suck. It's MAL rating is 7.31.

In any case, it isn't like I totally disagree with his point. It is how he's stated it as a blanket generalization.

He just phrased it so weirdly that I didn't know what he was saying. Everybody else started naming random girls with different sized boobs so I thought that's what this was about.

The only anime that I personally liked with a good story and voluptuous ladies were Sekirei, HighSchool of the Dead, Zero no Tsukaima, and Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou. Though most animes with girls like that the main focus is fan-service anyways so story usually comes second.

How about this. Any show where breast size is a significant factor in plot will suck. This applies to both the huge and small breast sides of this argument.

Some type of third party standard (i.e., MAL rank or other is needed), otherwise we'll just get a lot of "that sucks" and "no it doesn't" responses.

There is also the question of which countries standard you are going by. Japan uses the same system as continental Europe, while the U.S. system is more akin to that of the UK. Fortunately the D-cup has substantial compatibility (the UK/US standard gives it a broader range), while going past this in, the difference increases (i.e, a woman with a G-cup in Japan could be an E or DDD in the U.S.).


Speaking earlier of Freezing, I wonder if it would attain the "average of D-cup" status. When you look past Satellizer to many of the other characters, the bust sizes are not as large as your typical fanservice laden anime. I just started rewatching this since Funimation released the uncensored dub to Elite subscribers, so that was fresh in my memory when it was mentioned.

A lot of it would depend on how many of the female cast members one included in the average (i.e., all, only those that appear in the ED, all that are on screen for more than x minutes, etc.).

Freezing is enough to cast doubt on the theory, especially since it is hard to determine the "average D-cup" status. But if not Freezing, then how about "High School of the Dead"? Plus, don't forget loli factor that I mentioned. They can also provide exceptions.

And yes, of course, suckage is always a matter of opinion.

It's not using the same logic. what is stated is that "If anime X has many people cup size above D then it probably sucks." That isn't the same thing as saying "If anime X has many people BELOW cup size D it DOESN'T suck." see the difference? Yes, loli anime can be pretty bad too.
