120gig slim PS3, one of the first slim models, using Wifi.

Every simulcast I've watched has been fine. I get random performance issues like frame lag when browsing titles. It'll usually end up crashing to the PS3 dashboard. It's doesn't happen too often to cause an annoyance though.

I watched the first 2 episodes of Hanasaku Iroha lastnight, and around the half-way mark into the episodes I started getting 1-2 second lag delays. I take it Hanasaku hasn't been re-encoded yet?

The problem that was preventing my videos from showing has now been resolved.
But I noticed that the streaming is pretty slow compared to my PC. The video stops from time to time and then starts to load a bit then starts to stream again and go like this on and on. I'm using a Wi-Fi conection and didn't try using my wired conection yet, once I do I'll give my feedback. Overall, the app has improved a lot (and I can finally watch something after all), please keep up with the good work.

I cannot even begin playing any video. I can browse them fine, but when I select an episode to watch, it gives me a loading circle at the bottom, and then eventually freezes for about 20 seconds. After that, it resumes with the loading circle, but then kicks me back out to the episode select.

I've never once been able to get /any/ video to start playing.

PS3: Slim 160GB (with a 1 TB replaced HDD if that matters, which it shouldn't)
WiFi: 15.2 Mbps / 10.7 Mbps D/U
Internet Type: Fiber, 50.0 Mbps / 50.0 Mbps D/U

Can you please try something from the current Simulcast Season?
Put on Space Brothers and let me know if it still performs poorly.

What did you do? Works perfectly. Now, can you do the same for Naruto and Bleach?

A long time ago I noticed that the H.264 encode settings used in CR videos weren't actually compliant with the level standards for H.264. The PS3 can decode this format as long as it complaint with those standards. I wonder if that non-compliance is why the videos were having issues playing back on the PS3.

I'd be interesting in testing a new simulcast (ie a video encoded in the new way) to see if it shows up as being level compliant.

Going to try Total Eclipse since that's the series that has been giving me the most trouble both on PS3 and PC.

Edit: Flawless playback of episode 7 of Total Eclipse where, before, it would skip horribly. Good job!

Oh, and is this free 30 day trial the standard one or a PS3 exclusive one? It's just that I don't want to waste it on a beta if it's my one and only free trial....

The 30 day trial is only available on the PS3. The standard one is 2 weeks. Signing up for either will make you ineligible for another free trial for quite a while. The alternatives are just to limit yourself to the trial episodes the app offers, or dip into the Guest Passes thread and see if you can pick up a 48 hour guest pass (which won't count against your free trial).

PS3: Slim 120GB
WiFi: 20 Mbps / 6 Mbps D/U
Internet Type: Comcast Cable, 20.0 Mbps / 6.0 Mbps

Playback has been fine except for the occasional skip (may just be related to other devices connecting to the internet/network at the same time). Did get a hard black screen freeze twice requiring a system restart when I tried to open options once I chose a show to watch.

What is the strength of your Wi Fi Signal?
Service Provider (AT&T, Charter, Comcast, etc)

Can you please try playing the newest episode of Space Brothers and tell me if it starts?
If it does not, is there any way you can try running a wire to your PS3 and then try again and tell me if that resolves the issue?

My service provider is ETB
The signal at the time I try to start the space brothers' episode was 92% and it usually is that, but the last episode didn't start, I tried with the 2 before that and started without problem but after I tried with others and repeated the same 2 none wanted to start.

Making a wired conecction would be too much work, if I do it I will post the results.

By the way, I'm using the app in Colombia, I don't remember if the app was supossed to be US only or wich countries, Just saying in case it matters.

EDIT: I made a change in the network config of my ps3 and every video start now, One of the options was set in "PPPoe" I changed it to "automatic", I will test it with full episodes and see what else had changed.

What kind of PS3® do you have? (Fat/Slim, 20,40,60GB etc) - FAT 60BG hard drive (I'm guessing since it says I have 55GB storage - got it when the PS3 first came out)
Is your PS3® Wired or on Wi Fi? (If Wi Fi, what is the signal strength on the machine?) Wi-Fi - not sure of the signal strength - how would I check that?
What kind of Internet Service do you have and what is your max speed on the account? Time Warner Cable and when I did my speed test with my comp it was 11mb/s dl and 1.5mb/s upload. With the PS3 internet test it says 4.4mbps download and 1.5mbps upload.

I decided to go with Kokoro Connect - skipping back and forth using L1 and R1 works fine I did it with episode 6 and 7 again and again

REALLY improved the FF and Rewind - doesn't go all over the place anymore and picks up where you stop.

I re-watched episode 7 of Kokoro Connect - no skipping or audio video desync for the whole episode.

Last night I watched Gintama from the beginning (episode 1). Mild skipping in the first episode and later in episode 3 or 4 ... (I watched it when I was heading to bed) it got worse and desynced.

I haven't tried watching the simulcasts for 3 or 4 episodes yet ... donno if or when I'd do that but if I do I'll tell you how it goes.

Overall - good job! fixed a lot of problems

Fat PS3 60G Original

Wired

Current connection is 12/1.5

I watched an episode yesterday and didn't have any problems with the new update, with the original release it was bad. Just wanted to let you know that your progress is noted.

I have a fat.
I use WiFi and I would say it runs in the Very Good Category.
My Internet is Xfinity and I'm not sure of the speed but I'd say it's pretty fast.

You'll probably hear more from me once I actually get the chance to get on my PS3 again.
