I'm a Terrible artist, not going to lie and it's probably not going to be finished anyway.
But I would like some input on what the character would have.
I was going to make a burly character with heavy armor, but then thought to myself, go light.
I can't decide on anything, weapons, outfit or the head hair (I'm thinking Cliché spikey)

Here is my rough attempt...
I'm thinking something along the lines of a lone rouge type char who chooses to operate at night, with high burst speed and strength but little damage resistance and endurance choosing instead to rely on stealth to get in and out of battles. He uses a mid-low range sword requiring for up-close battles but aiding in his agility and threw in a small shield for all its worth.

And here it is poorly colored in since i don't have Photoshop or a stylus

its a work in progress ill attempt to clean it up some more

well i dont really know how to design clothes and weapons but eh did my best xD
it's a weapon, can hit from far, strangle~ annd close combat, use with one hand or two ^^ oh and the blade thingies are poisoned .

she is an assassin,, Name/Meria, Class/Ninja. (if ninja is considered a class )

With all the thieves present, does anybody doubt the validity of my entry? Or will I have to prove it that I drew it?

For the outfit, I think you should go light,while keeping the armor style.Therefore,add few armor parts into a more light cloth wear underneath.Something on the lower arms only would look good,as well as a few pieces on the upper body. As for the hair, a kind of moawk spikey ( still keeping hair on the sides,just making the spikey mostly centered and going front) would suit him well ..I think.. And judging by how your hand is placed,a dagger would be great,and so would be a double dagger Damn,I just wanted to talk about the hair,and then ... Any ways good luck (or not,don't get in my way to this price ! :P)

I'm sure there's no double entry on this one but I really liked this cuz it looks cool and all. I'd still use my first one as an entry, but if the admins are nice to let it slide :3 pls pick this one (though I doubt that it will happen XP)

First of all! That effect is bad ass & I wish I thought of it. ಠ╭╮ಠ lol

You should try loading it as a reply & then click on the preview Post button to see if it will play properly. From what I captured, its a four part Gif so it shouldn't be to much for crunchy to handle. [I checked. it works]

Heavy would have been pretty cool to see! x] What you have now is great too. I'll give you my suggestions!

1:Hair) I think a purple Mohawk would look absolutely awesome .___.
2:Weapon) Why not make him a spear user? It doesn't have to look like your average "Stick with a knife on the tip" kind of spear. You could really make it look unique & menacing. Oh! another idea I had for a weapon was Clay pots. One would hold a brilliant purple flame hat could eat through a persons armor, fully exposing them. The other pot would freeze them in place for five seconds. You could totally pull of insane strategy type moves with that set up! >=D
3:Outfit) The one you have made in your example fits well. I'd add a light desert brown hood around his neck & shoulders. Kinda like the one from "Tsubasa Chronicles".
Extra:) The way you have him posed makes me think he'd smirk confidently while taunting his opponent.

This took a lot longer than I thought it would. It was fun though!

I joined actually only yesterday, but I had been coming on the site for a looong time. Since I really like SAO, and had actually thought a lot about what kind of character I would have I was extremely excited. I hope I did everything right! Please let me know if I should change anything. I have the .psd file also with layers, but I figured a jpg would be easier to use.
