Sometimes online friendships can be stronger than RL friendships if it goes the right way but it just depends on the relationship.
Still, nothing really beats sitting down with someone you're comfortable with and chatting.
Theres something to be said for online friendships because you can be as open and weird as you want to be saying things that would be very embarrassing or uncomfortable IRL. Although if you have one very good friend in the real world you could be that way all the time.
As for wanting CR friendships ... just depends on the person really and how well you mesh.

I like meeting new people either here, other forums, IRL etc, but my condition is we have to talk and regularly. Otherwise, buddying up is utterly pointless if we just mutually ignore one another.

I am kind of interested in making friends on CR mainly because you can talk to people here about anime and different things like that without looking weird as hell unlike irl. It's kind of like logging onto an anime/comic fair where almost everyone is interesting and it's common place to talk about videogames, comics, and anime freely. This view of it is probably just because of the people I am around irl but hey.......

I've met some pretty cool, chill people on CR. I was kind of surprised actually, really only expected to waste away time and post on the forums here.
I wouldn't say they're as close to me as my personal friends and family, but we get along fine and enjoy chatting with each other.
