i consider myself "weird" but thats in the best way possible.
its all those "normal" people that are the strange ones. They live from day to day just blending in, not really exploring themselves.

There's different levels of nerdy when it comes to things like this.

If you watch an episode of Naruto each week but don't know a thing about Japanese culture it's not particularly nerdy or weird. Even if you watch a small handful.

However if you watch every series that comes out, type in half Japanese half English phrases to everyone, litter your room with dolls and toys, make cosplay costumes out of your parents bedsheets, know every voice actor's (sorry seiyuu) name, draw your own anime all day, only watch anime related porn, etc, etc. Then yes to the general public it is probably considered weird.

But the question is, how much do you care? I would like to hope that I am not 'weird' when it comes to anime, but I am a fairly odd person in general, I am very knowledgaable about the things I enjoy, and Japanese culture and anime fall into that, so I am a nerd in that respect, however I only watch about 4 anime series per week and I don't secretly dream about being Japanese.

Nah I have a 6 pack, captain of my schools football (not that soccer shit) team, dating the head cheerleader, and yea. I don't watch anime too often, either though.

I'm very weird. I've shown up for college classes in a lab coat because lab coats are awesome (for computer classes, not even science). I also end up talking about the existence of ten dimensions and try to explain the existance of the first four... whenever someone talks about theology, ghosts, or the supernatural. I also eat rice and drink green tea a lot. On top of all that, I haven't gotten mad (the emotion) for over a decade. I feel so left out ;_;

So yes, we are weird, and we will cover you with mayonnaise if you don't like it!

I may be a bit weird, but anime isn't what makes me weird. I love American football and Nascar, but that doesn't make me normal, either. I like a lot of everything and dislike a lot of everything. So I would say that what I like makes me about as weird as I am normal.

Liking something doesn't make you weird. However, I have seen someone rocking a Konoha headband in a restaurant before... That to me is really really strange, and I think it alienates you from others. I have watched Anime since I was 12 years old so for over 16 years now, in that time I have played football, wrestled, boxed, taken karate, judo, jiu jitsu, Muay Thai, and even spent 8 years as a mixed martial arts fighter. I don't consider those things normal but I refuse to let a hobby or interest define me.

Follow your heart and do what makes you happy, anything else is wasting the life that is slowly being sucked away one day at a time

First of all, Mayo?! Ewwwwww.... Secondly getting mad doesn't help anyone, but it is good to express emotions even if it's indignation. You should try raging on something.

a good deal of them tend to be lonely weirdos with very low self esteem regardless of the fact that they like anime

Anime is awesome.

I don't give much thought to the other people who watch it. Everyone on CR seems pretty nice. Not many people I know (save a handful) watch anime and they seem......relatively normal.

Okay... let me try it...

*Ehem*
Curse you! How dare you not like Mayo! It is quite delicious... although, it can be kinda thick and heavy at times so you have to get light mayo and not care that everyone else is like "You got light mayo? What? You a girl or something?" and all that stuff. But then again, if random people are going through your refrigerator, you should probably call the cops or something.
... So... Mayo is good. Don't say it's gross, some people like it. Just say, "I rather don't care for mayo" (or "As for mayo, I cannot..." to make it sound more Japanese, if you learn towards that). How'd you like it if I said ice cream was gross?! Oh, you don't care if I say that? Oh... well... ah... still, don't throw that hate blanket on mayonnaise or any type of food..

I just never feel angry, even when I worked fast food and had to deal with impatient obnoxious customers. Perhaps I've just not come across something serious and enraging enough to make me angry. Like, someone massacring millions, setting fire to my house, or dissing mayonnaise, for example. If anyone did any of those things, I'd severely wish to have a calm logical dialogue about their evil and uncalled for actions with them!

Please define weird... because people always call me weird because how energetic I can be and random. But, I feel like I am being my normal self, while I see people act different around others to try to impress them and fit in. That is what I consider weird.
