i dun know anybody but one male person (whom introduced me to Samurai X and got me interested) who watches anime..
he is not weird...
but I might be, it's just visual fantasy stories and I like to watch them.....so, in a nutshell, I do enjoy anime and have for about 5 years or so now..

Well it's true some anime fans can be weird, loners, or geek. There are very many that don't fit the bill, I'm not weird, have plenty of friends and past bf's, and I'am by no means a geek trust me.

honestly i think some people are a little different when it comes to anime i mean i watch anime and i still maintain a "normal" lifestyle. i workout, i do martial arts, i still go on dates, i go to school, i work(worked/will be working) and of course i spend time with my friends and family. i dont know about being ashamed of anime but i dont go tell everyone i meet or shout it to the world i just keep it to myself like a hobby and if im asked i answer truthfully. im a very social jack of all trades so i know all kinds of ppl who watch anime; some go all out others are like me its just something they do.

Like I said before, anime didn't make me socially awkward. I did. But then I found anime and it made me happy.
I even went to an art high school and still didn't fit it. It wasn't anime that did that. It was me.
I'm just depressed. But anime makes me feel a little better able myself.
I also recognize that a lot of people who like anime, even otakus have made a lot of friends and other networks of people like companies and businesses.

Well, I can honestly say that is more an obsession and it can happen to anyone obsessing over anything, like school, work, or even relationships. It is not just people who obsess over anime. It's people who obsess over anything. And that is their own problem.

yeah most anime fans are pretty weird. I prefer them to "normal" people though ..... even if normal is a relative term that probably doesn't exist.
