I am sure that you have seen it or heard of it. I have witnessed several "debates", conversations, forums, rumors, actions. People hate other things, and people hate the fact that people hate the thing they like so they hate the people who hate the thing they like, and so on. It never stops. What do you think that humanity could do to break the cycle of hatred. Sometimes I even get caught in the cycle of hatred

Humanity can do nothing to stop the cycle, people will always find something to hate. I once saw a quote, that said we could all be the same race, have the same mentality, like and dislike the same things, and we could find a new thing to hate tomorrow. People just need something to hate. That is my opinion, based on what i see in the world.

People dont have the same opinion or preferences on certain things in life. So hate is as natural as racism. There is always something/someone that other people just dont like.

I detest these sort of thread, people like you wondering why we must argue so vehemently, telling us to get along, be peaceful, loving, and tender, and stop all this mad hatred. Implicitly, or, rather, in your case, explicitly, there is a certain sense of superiority, a sense that you are above all this petty hatred and quarrelling, that you are above humanity, and when you are debased to their level, caught up in the cycle of hatred as you say, it is because of the strength of their evils. You suppose that we are to take this as a cry to virtue, when it is only a statement of your own perverse and smug self-righteousness, to look upon others and point out their sins. In decrying this sin, you hope that we see you as some sort of image of virtue- so, no, when you find a cure for your Pride, I would try to cure my Wrath.

Well I just got destroyed. Hahaha. I am sorry for this post, I was depressed when I made it. Although humanity does have strong suits every one must realize how screwed up some parts of it are, racism, honour killings, homophobia, religious bigotry, pollution, thinking that humans are the only important life on this planet.

Sometimes things like that just get me depressed and mad at the world, and what's so wrong about that. Am I not aloud to get angry at things that are obviously wrong and make a little post (that doesn't hurt anything) on the internet to vent a little.

Addressing your point about me thinking that I am better then humanity. I do think that I am better then racists, homophobes, mass murderers, and the like. But I am not better then humanity as a whole I am part of humanity.

Hate is a primary human emotion. Without it, we lose all those fun and interesting things about each other we love to hate so much.

The one who believes hate is inevitable will continue to hate. After all, why fight something that is inherent and inevitable?

"What do you think that humanity could do to break the cycle of hatred. Sometimes I even get caught in the cycle of hatred."

Humanity, by itself, can do nothing to break the cycle of hatred. Hatred is inherent within us - hatred of difference, hatred of opposition, hatred of helplessness, hatred of accusation. Even when we desire to get rid of vices, we end up hating those vices, and rather than getting rid of vices, we spend our time and energy hating them, which fuels them even more. Don't be surprised if you "get caught in the cycle of hatred." As human beings, hatred is inevitable.

But the one who is willing to turn the other cheek - that one will break the cycle of hatred. And he will be a model for others who desire to break the cycle as well, and they also, if they are willing, will learn to turn the other cheek. But others will hate this model - hate it for the very fact that those who turn their cheeks refuse to participate in the cycle of hatred. They hate because they're different, they're "above" this cycle of hatred. No, those who turn their cheeks are not "above" the cycle of hatred. They are out of it altogether. It's not that this cycle doesn't exist, but that they've found another way, and they're no longer bogged down by the cycle of hatred.

This act of turning the other cheek offends many, and many will find it impossible to do. The world system has always run on, "an eye for an eye. A tooth for a tooth." And it will continue to be so.

you know how they say love and hate are like oppposites, i think its like they must exist together or else.. if you look at it this way, if we only love, wont we question what love is, maybe it would just become a 'normal' feeling, to such an extent that it is now of little importance. but when there is hate, this creates an equilibrium, making us realise what love actually is, a precious type of feeling i guess...

You cannot stop everyone from hating.. In fact, you don't have the power to control everyone's mind..
There is no possible way/s to stop this because people are all different..

I think hate is part of human nature and if we stopped we wouldn't be human anymore. We have to hate/dislike something to feel safe and as long as humans exist there will be hatred. It's what happens when our fear and discomfort towards someone/something escalates to the point where we want to attack or get rid off. That's when it becomes a problem and you get conflicts.

Because those things do not fit into people's ideals.

I hate some modern music, hollywood film and tv shows because they are so generic and shallow... Twilight, Justin Bieber etc. People who get rich for acting stupid on TV (jersey shore)... it's very annoying. It's not a good model for future generations.

How did we come from the renaissance into this fake tanned ultra stupid fad?
