How come no one has ever done one ? I'd assume it wold be extremely successful world-wide, or is just one of those risky things companies avoid ? Plot wise I can see a tournament based idea working pretty good, a gathering of warriors from all over the universe a few characters from series such as one piece, dbz, bleach and some other heavy hitting shows. Man I would probably die of excitement lol. Anyway thoughts ?

mmmm ^ I second the post above but it's all by the one author and Tsubasa just borrowed the names and character appearances from Card Captors. If they really were to do a huge anime crossover with characters from different authors, there would be a big fiasco over the copyright issues and the such. I personally don't see it happening in the near future.

the issue is that companies that own the intellectual property, own them for the sake of making money. you want to legally use something owned by another they often want payment

as for the tourny style, how do you choose who wins? fans across the fictional omniverse will cry foul as the slightest indication that one character is better than the other. if Luffy smacked down Goku, you can be sure that fans will be mad and vise versa. it's better for everyone if the crossovers remain within the companies that own the intellectual property

They also went to, like, a billion different universes that crossovered about everything.

The closest I've seen is some of the Video Games. Super Robot Wars was centered around just about every Giant Robot Ever and I vaguely remember a fantasy RPG that had Lina Inverse, Sorcerer Hunters, Orphan and Louie the Rune Soldier in it.

Clamp LOVES this trope.

Let's see...

- Misc. manga by them
- Chobits
- RG Veda
- Cardcaptor Sakura
- Clamp School Detectives
- Miyuki-chan in Wonderland
- Magic Knight Rayearth
-Dunkledon
- Clover
- xxxHolic
- Tokyo Babylon
- X

ALL cross over with their series, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, but ESPECIALLY the last three.

well clamp made crossovers within their own properties, such as xxxholic, so it kinda disqualifies itself in a way

the thing here is with properties owned by entirely different companies having crossovers.

Gintama and SKET Dance cross over. Oh, also this - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jump_Ultimate_Stars

It's all manga characters, but most or all of them have anime based of them. So, that kind of says already, a massive anime crossover already exist.
